She dedicated most of her career to a private OB/GYN practice specializing in women’s healthcare where she performed obstetric studies in all weeks of pregnancy as well as gynecologic sonography. Ultrasound Unwrapped: A Week-by-Week Pregnancy Image Guide is her first book.
She is the creator and author of UltrasoundUnwrapped.com and @ultrasound_unwrapped on Instagram, both credible sources of information for expectant parents. She enjoys translating clinical knowledge into easy-to-understand material, key to quality patient communication and awareness. She is currently pursuing an interest in Health Communication Writing and most recently contributed blog health content for AIUM’s, The Scan.
Sandra is a devoted mother of two grown daughters and especially loves international travel with her family. Everything a current, expecting, and/or desired parent needs!!!!
This book honestly gave me insight to one's first trimester. Out of all of the books I've read, this is the only one that has a visual guide, walking you through ultrasound images of what to expect in the very beginning, which is the most prominent time in one's pregnancy. I love how the author throws in a comical twist to keep you laughing and remain informed. Plus, she's specialized in OBGYN sonography with over 20+ years of experience, which brings comfort to the facts provided. I've purchased for myself, and will continue to do so for friends and family as everyone can benefit from this information no matter what stage in life one is experiencing.

I purchased this book with high expectations and let me just say it exceed my expectations. The author takes the reader on a unique journey with images which illuminate the art of sonography. I found myself being educated by a professional with years of experience meanwhile being entertained in a way only someone who loves their profession can.
For someone that is looking forward to going through my own pregnancy. It provides information that will help navigate my journey and also address some universal questions all parents to be ask about ultrasounds.
I highly recommend this book to anyone curious about ultrasounds. You will be surprised and delighted by the content.
