This is a perfect addition to augment a unit of study about the Middle Ages. The series is divided by category, enabling students to zero in on a specific point of interest while the crafts (some easy, some more challenging) help reinforce the historical facts presented within. Overall, an excellent resource to help both students and teachers represent a very well documented but little understood period in European history. Bravo!

This book combines a large amount of text with occasional crafts, most of which are either too difficult or uninteresting to the elementary students this was written for. The print font is large, as would be used in a 3rd grade book, but the vocabulary is written for a much older student. Be sure to review before using with your class.
