Much of what Daly says is common classroom management advice. There's nothing overly significant that I read. I've tried a few of these ideas and though they are helpful, I'm not sure that the really have changed anything fundamentally in my teaching. I say, take what you can use and leave the rest. It's not a bad book, I just think you can find much of the same information elsewhere. What comes to mind as a better resource: First Days of School.
