Amazing book. ✨📚

A literary work delineating the true side of creativity

“Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths”. The line as stated here connotes a sense of progression and a lot of relevance with the overall context of the literary work at hand. Delving further, it must be taken into account that the author himself is replete with relevant credentials as being a sculptor for more than 30 years and this adds to the validity of the overall context in which he presents his view. As we proceed further, one may surmise that the title of the book suggests different connotations pertaining to the meaning of creativity and here the author has verily discussed the importance of meeting of mind and body to ensure a healthy flow of creativity. In addition to the same what stands out is that the author has made an objective assessment by suggesting that creativity must come instinctively without much of premeditation

It must be noted that the author has made poignant views and has used lucidity to convey the greater message through his book. In addition to the same, the overall presentation reflects an innate sense of objectivity which is the most vital aspect of creativity. The overall effect of the same being that this book is a must read for everyone willing to refresh his/her understanding of creativity and arts and gather newer perspectives

A great read connoting a vital delineation with regards to the true aspect and exploring the greater connections with the mind and body. This book is recommended to anyone who is willing to explore literature pertaining to arts and creativity.

Inspiring book with great tips

Sometimes I feel like I'm trying too hard, judging too much, comparing my work to "real artists" too often. It's frustrating. Sometimes I feel stuck because I feel like I'm not coming up with my own unique feel, authentic self creations.
While reading this book it made me realize a connection between things I do already, meditate and create, for some reason my head was so filled with judgment of my own ideas and other clutter I didn't think of applying a clear mind to my art. Seems crazy in retrospect.
Just clearing my mind and allowing it to play with materials, just in my head, I cleared a block and had unique ideas that I want to explore at my workbench. It felt invigorating and represented my true self.
Sometimes it's just a little nudge, a simple idea, that helps unlock your potential.
I'm thankful to have found this book and taken the time to actually read it (hey, we all have those books we plan to read but get sidetracked lol).

Concise and well-written

Don Campbell presents a concise narration on the importance of reaching a state of stillness/mental silence and emotional awareness and openness as a preparation for any creative work.
Well written, not too complex, and refreshingly free of typos that seem to inhabit much of modern day non-fiction.

Heart and Imagination

Don Campbell takes on the artist experience through his journey. Sage advice having to do with sensing art. The creativity is found by practicing introspection and meditation. Don Campbell tells it better than I can in a simple review. I recommend this book to those running into brick walls when it come to creativity.

Don has offered [not taught] a refreshing way of nurturing and harvesting the prompting of the creative muse. ie: put in the time to develop competency and then let go of historical limiting thinking and open to and let come the arising possibilities of heart, head, hand and will though present-moment-mindfulness. Timely in many ways!

This book opens with a powerful concept. Our identification as artists can include "and".

Campbell writes a book about his personal journey with creativity. Includes a how to, and a workbook section.

Small book. Big punch.

I am therefore I do

Great explanation of creativity and why we want it and why we don't. Answers many questions as to the natural ability some may have while many struggle to achieve. Your purpose and striving to meet your goals must be realized.

t and why we don't.

I love Campbell's art.... it's stunning and masterful. Unfortunately, his book is lightweight and doesn't offer anything new.
