"It’s difficult, but if you see yourself as a victim than it turns into this selfish monster inside of you where you demand sympathy and start to make excuses for not going out or getting out of bed. Whereas, if you see yourself as a survivor, you can turn this bad traumatic experience into something good. You got out, you’re still alive, and that is something worth protecting and valuing."
After enduring a horrific capture, 24-year-old Riley Hammerson struggles to get through each day. She lives with the fear that her aunt, Ariel, could be anywhere just waiting to exact her revenge on both Riley and her newly discovered brother Ryan. As Riley uncovers a horrible truth she finds herself going back down the dangerous road she found herself on a year ago. Will she be a survivor?

This quote was the inspiration behind this book for me. Every time I wrote about Riley's pain I considered what she had endured up to that point. While this book is shorter than the previous it is packed full of adventure, mystery, and suspense. I hope that many find this an enthralling read!
