Sandeep Pawar, YOU ARE A STAR!

I’m gonna order this book for keeps and gift it to all those working in the IT sector. I haven’t laughed so much in the near future and for that alone, I would give it 10 stars if possible.

Corporate Blah Blah Blah is a book that reflects how the usage of English idioms has been mangled in the corporate sector in India. Having worked in a similar environment it was extremely relatable and of course with a manager like Subbu

The author’s writing skill is commendable, the story takes shape in an office with a manager and his team and he has shown us different idioms citing examples of how it is used as jargon and the confusion that arises due to the inability to grasp the actual meaning of it. And YES, we have all been there trying to get your manager to use these idioms aptly and sorting out what exactly we are supposed to do with them.

Hilarious beyond words that brought tears to my eyes with too much laughing, Corporate Blah Blah Blah is that perfect book that captures that part of our working culture here in India. I think even someone outside this IT bubble, can surely grab this book and enjoy the humorous tangle created by Subbu and his team.

Highly recommended! ⛈️ ⛈️ ⛈️ ⛈️ ⛈️

Sharpen your corporate lingo while having some fun.

My ratings: 4.3
Have you ever heard or wondered about phrases like ‘Push the envelope’ or ‘Touch Base’? This book gives gyaan (enlightenment) on many such corporate jargons. The fun part is, it does so while providing the bookish meaning as well as the hidden meaning behind each such phrase. Read this one to have a hearty laugh as you find yourself or someone you know within the pages of this corporate humour book.

What I liked about the book:
—> It makes you laugh right from the first page (yep, literally)
—> You’re immediately drawn to the clumsy and silly, yet endearing character of Subbu (the male protagonist who is the team lead and boss)
—> The narrative is from the PoV of a wall clock which is so creative as well as funny. (the clock introduces itself as ‘Samay’ and I immediately found myself recalling the 90s Mahabharata show which started with ‘Mein Samay Hun’. So some brownie points to the author for that nostalgia ride)
—> It will be a totally relatable and fun read for someone who works in a tech company ( or any corporate for that matter)
—> Each chapter starts with a corporate wisdom quote which are all extremely witty, because they’re all so true.

What I did not like about the book:
—> It ends too soon. I was just starting to warm up and the book concluded which was disappointing as I definitely wanted more.
—> I feel the story could be more diverse if a few of Subbu’s supervisors were also included in the story.

Quotable quotes:
—> If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room, they say. But if you are the most famous person in your circle, you are in the wrong circle; they didn’t say.
—> Some things are better when not used incorrectly than used correctly. Jargon is one of them.
—> Either use jargon effectively or inculcate the habit of blah blah blah-ing!
—> After ice cream, it's gossip that is loved by all.
—> Your boss is the funniest person on the Earth. Don’t laugh.
—> Romance is such a genre that makes everyone attentive.

Whether you are from the corporate sector or not you will enjoy this book a lot. This book will take us through few business jargons that are used in day to day life of people from the corporate sector and how sometimes the incorrect use of those jargons can create problems as well a hilarious situations.

Subbu, the project manager is not much well versed in business communication so he tries to pick up the jargons whenever someone says it and he uses it in his daily conversations without thinking about the situation or the need for it which creates some hilarious situations in the office.

This is more like a conversational short story where the author gives an example of each jargon through a conversation between Subbu and his teammates. The author has also included the meanings of each jargon in general and what it means in the corporate world.

The author's knack for storytelling is laudable. I was laughing so much at some points. The character of Subbu is fun and entertaining. The readers can relate to each character so much so that we happen to see at least one of them in our daily life. Overall it was a fun read.

The book is very well written as it explores 11 commonly used jargons as to how Subbu understands them, and the comedy of errors that follow. Before each chapter, Sandeep explains two meanings of each jargon-the usual, dictionary meaning, and secondly the corporate speak of the same. Each of the jargon then follows a practical example which is used by Subbu. I liked the satire that the author wanted to portray, and the sheer contempt he has for the terms. The storytelling is engaging, and the author manages to maintain the overall theme of the book in each of the stories. For me, Let’s be on the Same Page, Eyeball it Once, and Gentle Reminder were the best among all. The idea of using Samay as the narrator was quite cheeky, and Samay’s introduction was imaginative.

Coming to the characters, Samay was the showstopper for me with his introduction. Corporate Subbu was created as an interesting character, a corporate dreamer that each of us would have encountered at one point or the other in our lives. Each of the story help us understand him, and towards the end make us a bit emphatic towards him as well.

Overall, I would highly recommend the book in case you are in a corporate setup, or are planning to be a part of one.

P.S. Don’t forget to read the post-its at the beginning of each story.

This book is not blah blah, it's a very smartly written book.
The book is narrated by a Clock, which reminded me of Mahabharat, "Mai Samay Hoon". The book is filled with smart one-liners, which I am going to use frequently. The book lightly highlights the power politics that happens in corporate offices using humour.
The language is easy and you can actually learn some jargons here and there and show off.

Simple yet intriguing, its lightly written and full of information.

I'll highly recommend this, all 9 to 5 goers are going to relate to it.

Happy Reading!

First of all, this book takes to the pre-pandemic office era and makes us nostalgic. Even though we hate our colleagaues and the boss to the core, sometimes we miss them. Don't we?
This book is our companion for the office tour. The incidences are so relatable that at some point, you can imagine everything happening in front of your eyes. The book has oneliners that are damn funny and should be used as t-shirt quotes.
All the characters are characters-next-office ones and we can fit in one of their shoes. You indeed get some work-wisdom if you can read the lines in between the humour. Moreover, it added some jargon to my jargon dictionary.
Highly recommended to everyone!

Corporate Blah Blah Blahs: (In)effective of tackling business jargon is a magnificent book written by Sandeep Pawar.
As the title indicates, the book is all about corporate comedy full of business jargons. I must admit that if you are from corporate background, then you must read this book as you would be able to connect to every incidence. I was able to connect to the story very well. The author deserves appreciation for writing this humourous book with a background of corporate culture. The plot of the story is very informative. The character of senior officer manger is really very clumsy because of his inability to understand mordenlog day jargon made things really funny for other people in thr office. The language used in the book is lucid and is easy to understand. The title and the cover is totally relevant. The book can be raily read in two to three sittings.
Overall, I would say it is a very decent humorous book based on corporate background. Its a quick read. I would recommend it to all those who are from corporate background as you would be able to connect to it.

I bet the corporate’s individuals will like this ‘Corporate Blah Blah Blahs: (In)effective ways of tackling business jargon’ by ‘Sandeep Pawar’. I guess title of the book is more than sufficient to make the readers an idea about the book. The whole scenario is set on the theme of corporate world. Have any one you heard about blood and flesh from ‘Sapiens’ by ‘Yuval Noah Harrari’, if not then I will quote something from there that we had made these corporates and had injected life by giving them a shape made up of blood and flesh same as we are. What are these corporates? A small group with board members successfully running it without any emotions and employees under them working as a machine and even they don’t understand why they are doing! Due to this corporate think, there is lot of competition in the market as well in individuals to be the best like having good accent, appearance and so on. The drawback of this whole system is that those who can speak English and has that corporate Jargon and can fluently practice it in use, finals more clients than the one who cannot.
Here, author has written a story of such an individual named ‘Shubbu’, the protagonist around whom the whole story is portrayed and the one who is represented as a comic element by author. Shubbu, works in a corporate sector and is a team head. The things were going smoothly till Vikram and IIM’s graduate arrived in a company and start taking up the projects. What Shubbu realised that, he is able to do so because of his communication skills and jargons. Shubbu to decide to act and practice it in his daily conversation but what is funny in the story that he has half knowledge about the jargon but he uses it without giving a single thought about the mistakes he is doing respective of the situation and the need.

Author has made it a bit comical with Shubbu but the thing which as a reader we need to dig deep is that author has unfold the secrets and the competition, real face of corporate world. He has written it so well that it is accessible to all the readers be it from corporate world or the non- corporate ones.

Interesting read

Here is your girl with another review. Corporate blah blah blah by Sandeep Pawar. Aah! That's quite a simple and intriguing read. If you are from a corporate culture, then you are gonna enjoy this book because you can connect with every scene mentioned init. We can't neglect any point as the words inked will convey the bitter truths of the corporate world by tearing layers.

As a working person, I completely burst out laughing at times because I just saw my reflection in it. The author needs to be appreciated for picking up an interesting narration style that lifts up the pace. It feels more like a discussion than a story.

Characterisation makes the whole process lively. You can easily connect with these characters as we are witnessing them in our day to day life. You can actually read this entertaining humours and take a break from sombre life.

The incidents that are mentioned in the book were relatable and invigorating for me.
What I really liked is that the author has written the meanings of each jargon in general and what it means in the corporate world. It is efforts like these that make a book stand out of the crowd.

Totally relatable and still refreshing...

Appreciate Author's observational skills and more importantly the knack of unfolding a story through character building. To give few easy examples of observational skills - typical office meeting room names, senior managers' short emails and use of initials, 'official' chaos and employee behaviour on various events.

The book is also filled with quick references to movies, famous dialogues or quotes, characters, tv ad lines etc. making it an exciting and smart read.

Last but definitely not the least - 'Random Corporate Wisdom'; funny, witty and clever one liners appearing between chapters are very much original and creative. Reading these is like a pleasant crash course and thumb rules guide on corporate behaviour, can't have it enough !

Very smartly written and surely an appealing, exciting read.
Result - started following the author and already waiting for his next art !

Corporate Blah Blah Blah is a story about the life of corporate employees.
The book provides information regarding the various terms and jargon used in offices, leading to some funny incidents.

The beauty of this book is that it is divided into chapters and each chapter name is a corporate jargon term.

When I started reading the book I didn't really understand what it was. However, after a few chapters, I learned that these are jargon and are being explained with the help of an incident.

This is a comedy of corporate life. It is not a self-help book but it provided me with valuable information that I can use in my future.

The cover of the book is quite funny and amusing. Also, it represents the book well.
I loved the narrative style of the author, it was a perfect balance of information, incidents, and wit.

The book is centered around the project manager Subbu and his team mates, and the hilarious as well as problematic incidents caused by him in the office due to the use of business jargons in his casual conversations of daily life. It is clear from reading this book that the author is a brilliantly talented writer who has a unique witty style that is very funny, informative and original.

I laughed out aloud many times whilst reading some of his observations about the business jargons and conversations about it. The humor is that kind of humor that you might not laugh out loud to, but you can't help but smile. I couldn't keep a straight face. Overall, if you're looking for a light and fun read, you'll like this book.

A short collection of fictional stories around corporate jargons. The character of Subbu has been portrayed like any boss is visualised by his/her team. A few parts of the book are funny, but they don't match up to the author's first book.
