Book Title: WHY? Author: Abdul Ghaffar Format: Kindle
My Thoughts: Everything in the world starts with the single question WHY? The more we ask, the more we seek. This is how everything in and around the human mind and world runs. The curiosity to know is what makes a person creative and seeker. The qualities like inquisitiveness and curiosity in a human combinedly create wonders. A limitless quest in life is responsible for every invention and discovery. Without this, the energy could have been stalled!
In this book, "WHY- Reason for Every Action: Start your Day with Why, author Abdul Ghaffar explains how the trait of being curious can be used in every field of research and invention, which in turn gives the best results.
Nonfiction books that do not come under the spiritual or self-help genre usually take a special place in a reader's mind. The irony is, this book or any other spiritual book talks about the importance and power of seeking. This book, right from the cover image, which is quite exciting and derivative of many meanings, catches a reader's instant attention; apart from the look and feel, the contents where the author has taken every pain to explain the importance of WHY is fascinating.
The book contains eight chapters, and with an interesting preface and conclusion, this books serves a greater purpose to become intellectual silently, just by questioning. From the initial chapters, readers will come across interesting facts about the power of thinking and how the human brain analyses everything. Not so spiritual, but mostly the scientific approach makes the book special. The author also included many tips and tricks in order to self inspire by trying to know many things with one small question WHY?
This book can be recommended to the youngsters and students in the pensive state because of the uncertainty towards the future. This book, especially during these COVID times, will help one feel better about themselves.
As Friedrich Nietzsche mentions: “He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how,” the book opens with a universal truth about life. If the quirky cover with the upside-down WHY in the book’s title is not enough to grab the reader’s attention, then the concise and well-researched content definitely will. The book states that among the “WH” questions that haunt the human living, people will oftentimes overlook what was committed or even be willing to skip how the action panned out but they seldom forget why someone behaved a certain way. It is an action that defines an individual at the end of the day and the book puts emphasis on the actions that we choose to make over the actions we choose not to perform. This brings in the individual conscience that runs behind the acts as Ghaffar sticks to his presumptive formula: “Cause is related to reason while courage is related to your action.” Such a statement immediately sets the reader on a thinking trail. It arouses interest, engages the mind intellectually, and brings forth a unique take on suffering and survival.
At the heart of the book is a sense of balance that is unshakeable. It is this balance that makes Ghaffar draw examples from various walks of life to substantiate his points. Be its theology, philosophy or science, it shows his openness towards learning and sharpening the mind, and giving due respect to every discipline. Additionally, the examples are drawn from ground-breaking incidents of the distant past to the significant events of contemporary times. Though the book may come from someone studious, it is his meticulousness combined with a sense of humility that makes for a spellbinding narrative. Yet, the tone is never boastful or overbearing. A learner at heart, Ghaffar’s method is one of deductive explanation. He mentions an example, draws inferences from it, and goes on to explain these inferences meaningfully and logically. This eases a lot for the reader as one does not feel overburdened with any strict or rigid ideas without practicality. On the contrary, the book reveals an adventuresome personality with a taste for rigorous practice, relentless perseverance, and a knack for story-telling. The pace of the narrative is moderate though the content is initially a little jumpy (due to the abstract nature of reasoning applied) which is made up for in the subsequent chapters.
It is this abstract nature of the topic that entices and engages the reader intellectually. Ghaffar begins with the etymology of the word ‘why’ and deciphers the mysteries behind it. The book induces the reader with knowledge of the types of ‘why’ but has the larger motive to inculcate the habit of questioning and free-thinking. It brings out the value, importance, and purpose of asking ‘why’ and the types of ‘why’ as and when which type is applicable as this is what forms the RPC or Reason Processing Circle. Diagrammatic representations of ideas aim for conceptual clarity. Providing a different expansive explanation on usually recurring short forms such as GST for Goal Setting Theory or VAT for Value Addition Theory makes brings in freshness to the book. But the real appeal of the book lies in its ability to motivate and instill confidence in the reader to believe in their dreams, dare to achieve, and respond appropriately to adversities.
The book is a promising view into practical formulas for long-term success provided the tips are applied sensibly and sensitively. But the best is left for the last which is almost the cherry on the top where Ghaffar pens an interesting poem on the word ‘why’ and its many implications. The poem sums up the book and the word. It provides a sort of circularity to the book in which the book begins and ends with the same abstractions of motivation. Structurally, the book is divided into eight core chapters followed by a conclusion and bibliography. It is not a lengthy read. The language is moderately easy to follow. The book can be read by anyone who is looking for some motivational input to encourage them in their day-to-day endeavours though the book is a suitable read for students of business administration, commerce, or those involved in the corporate world.
“A book with an uncommon illustration of the reason to every aliveness.”
“Success is not built on success, it’s built on failure, it’s built on frustration. Sometimes, it’s built on catastrophe”… Abdul Ghaffar
The sort of information that was communicated in this book is weighty and quite indescribable. I received a physical copy of this book without a monetary compensation from the author, and this is my honest review.
This book is the fifth book on the genre of motivation that I’ve read this year, and I’m astonished by its grandeur of strength which made me ponder on my why’s and meditate on my purpose of existence.
There are several incentive stories within this book that ordinarily arouse my interest to be distinctive and to keep track of my journey to greatness regardless of any circumstances. These are the stories of some great men around the world, and that of the author’s experience. I underlined some crucial part which I am going to imbibe in my life. Reading through this book, made me realize the fact that no one is restricted from greatness, except if one restricts oneself.
I plan to make this review as succinct as possible, otherwise, I would have shared some impressive and mind-blowing quotes that were inscribed at one part or the other in this fantastic book. The book is didactic and scientifically well-researched.
I think if every human would take a tour on questioning their aliveness, and ask the “why, reasons for every action” – they won’t only become successful, but the world would have also been – a peaceful and a happy place to live in. This book expands beyond motivation, it also delves into psychological, and scientific revolutions. It widens the enigmatic description of the human fate amidst success and failure. I for one praise the adeptness of the author in this field, he is for sure a talent to keep an eye on.
This book goes further on revealing the dynamic ways of overcoming obstacles; similarities and differences between motivation and manipulation, the components and factors of motivation, and the discerning strength of a man to wisely choose his motivation regardless of its source. There is more to what I can describe in this book as I will leave the reader of this review to scour out for themselves the sort of information that Abdul Ghaffar has told in his book.
The only problem that I specifically have with this book is its “trunk of errors”. Honestly, I was annoyed and had to reach out to the author to inquire if his book was ever edited but was made know of the nearness of a second edition
Apart from the grammatical issues associated with this book, which made me deliberate on the need for a second edition. This artistic work is good for employers and employees, it’s a perfect read for anyone in a leadership position, and generally, everyone who seeks to know the why behind their existence.
It is a sad reality that human motivation is always at its peak on the first day of every year, and gradually declines as the day goes by – Abdul Ghaffar’s book reveals some reality that I haven’t come across in most books. I believe that you will find this book to what I have described and even beyond what I have described.
The famous startup research writer Thomas Oppong has once quoted that nothing gives a person the wholeness of peace like a distinct understanding of their actions. True, no? Our actions define us, and as soon as we realize the reason behind our actions, our thought process is cleared. This book, WHY is a comprehensive analysis of the reasons behind our existence, persistence and every action we take forward towards our goal. Mr Abdul Ghaffar could pace the book right from the first page you turn. A self-help book that doesn’t go on the verge of preaching but takes a pragmatic turn in deciphering the utmost necessity of questioning ourselves before any action. The book starts with an introduction to WHY where the author describes how the purpose of our action determines the reason behind our behaviour. It brings cohesion between the cause and the courage, both of which is essential behind an action. Interestingly, the author takes refuge in scientific analogies to teach us the true meaning of WHY. The author has specifically chosen realistic examples and various incidents from world history, both ancient and modern and deciphers the significance of WHY. The narration becomes all the more facund with Bernard Baruch’s famous quote- Millions saw the apple fall, but only Newton asked Why. Several such quotes are aptly placed to make every chapter meaningful. The biggest asset of this book is its lucid language, practical examples and no-nonsense approach. Every page you turn, you realize how conceptually clear the author is. The gist is; to get the desired result one needs to dedicate quality time and honest efforts which is possible only when one realizes the reasons behind actions. Deciphering the WHYs create a robust attitude and help one to be consistent. This book ends on a beautiful note; named Innocent Curiosity, perhaps different from the other bestsellers but certainly adds an unexpected value to this book. WHY- Reason For Every Action is Crisp and Concise, thoroughly researched and well structured and carries an effortless narration that makes this book an excellent self-help book.
We always trend to pick up the book that attractive either its cover or title and the book become our favorite or everyday always ready to read book. Same goes with the "WHY reason for every action by Abdul Ghaffar," whose the title and cover truly matches with the content that will push you too towards your WHY.
The blurb of the book share such a sparking lines "It shows you the reason for taking the pain every morning to get up from the bed to go to work, which you do every day even without your motivation and enjoyment." which can randomly make anyone to pick up this book and let them search for their "WHY".
The book begins with an introduction to WHY in which author explains how the purpose of our action determines the reason behind our behaviour in scientific terms to elaborate the true meaning of WHY. It has eight chapters in which author has used diverse quotes, scenarios, scientific facts and conclusions. The readers can easily dive into the chapters and take away the teachings and practice them to find them WHY and then work upon them to become successful and amazing.
The writing style of author is simple and lucid making that a plus point as the language of non fiction books are difficult to understand. Overall the book is quite interesting and push you to understand your WHY more better. I truly recommend this to all the people who aren't sure of themselves and their dreams. Ratings: 5/5✨

This is a motivational or self-help book we can say.
Actually I found this book on amazon when I was searching for books such as “Life’s amazing Secrets” by Gaur Gopal Das and “How to stop worrying and start living?” by Dale Carnegie then it came into my recommendation and I just added it to my cart and ordered it.
Well If I talk about this book then it is a self-help book written by Abdul Ghaffar. This is the first book of Abdul Ghaffar over motivation which was published first time in 2020. Author says that people will forget WHAT you did, People will forget HOW you did but they will seldom forget WHY you did. Reasons always leave a permanent and inerasable mark in people’s mind.
It's an amazing book. It helps to find the reason for your action. It's worth to read which help you know your why that is actual reason for your every action.
