After the appearance of her novel, Meeting Laura, and during the writing of the sequel, Anna "Annina" Lorenzi surprises us, again, with a ‘lateral’ project completely different from her previous publications. It’s an outside of the box collection, without rules. A collection of words and images, of emotions, of Life that someone has even called "poetry"...

Born in Milan on a rainy Monday morning the 26th of October, 1981. She went to - or, better yet, "went to" - two years of classical studies high school, followed by four years of artistic studies high school, without, in any event, being able to resist dedicating herself to her passions: writing, music, photography, her beloved dogs, engines, travelling and nature.
Talking about work, she really does "a little bit of everything," so much so that, together with some friends, she founded a company in Texas that deals with classic cars. Participating in writing contests and working with some Italian magazines, she has published various short stories and articles.
Currently, she shares her creative writing accompanied by photographs and images on her personal site, Diciannove - Prima di nascere ero sull'astronave che aspettavo di scendere (annina19. com - Nineteen - Before I was born I was on a space ship waiting to come down) partially available also in English, translated by Starleen K. Meyer. Anna is now writing a sequel to her last novel, Meeting Laura, available in Italian and English in all Amazon stores.

Starleen K. Meyer has been translating from Italian into English for years: academic works in the broad humanities field, such as on architectural or music history, but also literary works. She has her B.A. in art, her M.A. and Ph.D. in art history, and has also published contributions in scholarly books and journals.

On 19 May 2020, "Incontrando Laura. Un romanzo liberamente e in parte ispirato alla vita di…" was released, accompanied by its English edition "Meeting Laura. A novel loosely and partially inspired by the life of…" professionally translated by Starleen K. Meyer. The release date of the two audiobooks has not been decided, yet.
In August 2020, Anna began working on the sequel of "Meeting Laura" and on a completely different side project, which she decided to prioritize. - The release of the sequel is currently still to be defined.
On 8 February 2021, "The Microscope. Una raccolta di scatti immortalati con la penna" was released, accompanied by its English edition, "The Microscope. On 8 May 2021, "The Roller Coaster - UP&Down! - Un'estensione di The Microscope (qualcuno le chiama poesie)" and its English edition, "The Roller Coaster - Up&Down! - An extension of The Microscope (some call it poetry)," were released by surprise. During the subsequent summer, Anna wanted to try something new and different from her other projects, and so a really beautiful collaboration with Gabriele Corvi, a well-known Italian cartoonist, was born: her first illustrated book, written a bit tongue-in-cheek for everyone, young and old, “from zero to 100.”
On 11 November 2021, "The story of Ace, the Dog that Comes from Space," was released with illustrations and a preface by Lele Corvi (original title: "La storia di Ignazio, il cane che arriva dallo spazio"). Genre: comics and graphic novel, general / narrative for children, illustrated books. - #KnowAce #ConosciIgnazio
On 26 March 2022, the bilingual edition of Ignazio/Ace was also published: "The Story of Ace, the Dog that Comes from Space: English-Italian Text Edition!" with its version for the Italian market, "La Storia di Ignazio, il Cane che Arriva dallo Spazio: Edizione Italiano-Inglese con Testo a Fronte!". A book for all children from 3 to 99 years! Genre: children’s fiction, picture books / bilingual education / foreign languages.

The cover of this book is really vibrant and looks really attractive. The title is apt and tells exactly what to expect from the book.
This is a short book with 63 pages where the author has described her poems as snapshots.The author has written all the poems in a really beautiful and raw manner.The writing style is really engaging.I felt connected with the poems and really enjoyed reading this book
Here are some of my favourite lines from the book:
"Sundown has already been swallowed up by the sea. Slowly sucked in, absorbed. Disappeared. Shiny yellow, vivid oranges, fire engine red, purple and light blue, blue, dark blue, darker still. Black. Night. Dark."

Even when it's a short read, I would not recommend you to complete it in one go. I will keep reading this book again and again and will definitely recommend you to do the same.Highly recommended from my side especially if you like reading poems.
