Bullen’s work begins with an overview of gender theory, then views the Basque case. Covers women as agents of cultural transmission; women within the nationalist movement; and women in the diaspora.
Margaret Bullen is a feminist anthropologist and lecturer in Social Anthropology at the University of the Basque Country since 2005. She holds a degree in Modern Languages from the University of Bristol and a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Liverpool. Her research focuses on migration, identity, gender, and cultural change, particularly in the Basque Country and Latin America. She has contributed to studies on women’s participation in Basque festivals and applied anthropology projects. Bullen has also collaborated with NGOs and international institutions, promoting gender equality and social justice.
