Him I’ve got one mission. To have the man that fathered me, King Me as his. I deserve the billions as much as my legitimate brothers do. But I’m thrown off that pursuit by a pint-sized woman who saves lives as a career. By contrast, my job during many combat missions has been to take them. We are too different. Yet, she’s a beautiful distraction I can't seem to give up. I’ve made the mistake of falling in love before. I won’t do it again. So when I’m forced to choose between becoming a King and saving her life— The choice is simple.
Terri E. Laine, USA Today bestselling author, left a lucrative career as a CPA to pursue her love for writing. Outside of her roles as a wife and mother of three, she’s always been a dreamer and as such became an avid reader at a young age.
Many years later, she got a crazy idea to write a novel and set out to try to publish it. With over a dozen titles published under various pen names, the rest is history. Her journey has been a blessing, and a dream realized. She looks forward to many more memories to come.
I didn’t understand a thing!!! 🤯 Apart from the grammatical errors, there were a lot of characters that I couldn’t figure out who they were, and it was very frustrating and chaotic!! Obviously, if I had read previous series by this author then I would have been familiar with those characters, but there wasn’t any indication in the blurb! Dnf @ 12%
Picture this: A middle-aged woman jumping up and down like a giddy school girl when Terri E. Laine announced she was writing a New King Installment. Yea, that’s me. I am not ashamed. These men are everything and all fiercely protective. King me is Liam and Natalie’s story and Book one in the duet. You do not have to read the other books in the series, and I recommend it as you have a better understanding of some of the characters.
Liam is a tall drink of hotness, on his way from Maryland to New York to confront his biological father and brothers of his existence. What he wasn’t planning on was meeting Natalie, a beautiful woman at a rest stop, and then seeing her in New York and his brothers' reactions to his claim. Natalie is not looking for love, a traveling nurse only in New York for a few months.
I just love Liam. He tells it as it is. He comes across cocky, which he is, but he is honest. Natalie has a whole mystery around her. They have walls up; the chemistry between the two is undeniable.
They are cameos of all the Kings men and their ladies, and I have missed them all. I devoured this book in one sitting, and it’s an easy read. That cliffhanger was a doozy, and now I have to wait for book two. Luckily it releases soon.
I wals so excited to read King Me. Another book about one of the sexy King Men? I am in. And Ms. Laine did not disappoint. I was hooked from the very first page. It was a fast paced, sexy read with chemistry between the two main characters that it was dripping of the pages. And I loved how the other characters from this series were so flawlessly woven into to Liam and Natalie's.
Liam is going to New York to confront the man whose DNA he shares. He has never met his father and from what he knows of him he is a real douche. But Liam knows that he is dying and wants to go meet the man and get what his mother deserves from him. Somehow he ends up driving his brother and his sister-in-law to the hospital because she is in labor and then meets the same woman he met on his way to NY at a rest stop. Seems like these two were meant to meet.
Natalie has just arrived in New York to help out at one of the hospitals there. She is a traveling nurse and her job has taken her to New York. It's her first day in the big city and things have already gone from good to bad. But then she meets Liam and he takes her day a little better by offering for her to stay with him. She just met him but it's either that on live on the streets until she finds a place to stay.
Let me just say that the chemistry between Natalie and Liam was off the charts. From the mount they met there was this undeniable connection, an not just physically. These two just met and yet there is no awkwardness between them.
Liam is out to prove that he is his father's son, while Natalie is working and doing what she needs to do to help her mother. They both have a past where their fathers are concerned. They both feel the connection. The sexual tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife. But Liam has reservations about being more than just friends while Natalie is trying understand what is actually going on in Liam's head. Doesn't he feel what she does? She thinks he does but his actions and words tell a different story.
I loved this book and am patiently waiting for the second book. I honestly did not realize that this was a duet, until I got to about 90% and realized that this story was not close to ending. hoops. lol. But that is just fine by me because it means more of Liam and Natalie. I loved how Kaeln and Connor all fit into this story so seamlessly as well as their wives. There is more to the story then just Liam and Natalie. There is suspense and drama. Wanting to know more about Natalie's family situation while waiting on pins and needles to find out the truth about Liams paternity. Liam, while I absolutely loved him, drove me nuts. He frustrated me to no end. I understood his reservations but boy his actions killed me. I am rooting for these two . And that cliffhanger!!!! Thank God I don't have to wait too long.
Check out the latest installment in the sexy All The King's Sons series from Terri E. Laine! You don’t have to read the others to enjoy it.
KING ME has all this… ✔️ Push/Pull Friends to Lovers romance ✔️ Feisty heroine ✔️ Irresistible alpha male ✔️ All the feels ✔️ Intriguing, fast-paced, addictive read … and more
When Terri E Laine announced, that there are going to be more books about her super sexy and absolutely irresistible King men, I was excited beyond words and couldn't wait to get my hands on the next installment. And let me tell you, that I was not disappointed! King Me was another unputdownable and highly entertaining story that left me breathless and begging for more. There's something alluring and very intriguing about these King men who make you fall in love with them effortlessly. This is why I can't and won't ever get enough of them!
If you read Kingdom Fall or Arrogant Savior, then you've already heard the name Liam King. He grew up alone with his mother and alongside his best friend and cousin Grant. After retiring from his Military career as a pilot, Liam is back home and determined to find the man who fathered him and make him acknowledge him as his legitimate heir. On his way to New York he meets a gorgeous young woman who is in deperate need for help. The last thing Liam needs is some pretty distraction, but resisting her sweetness seems impossible of a task.
Natalie isn't looking for love, nor does she really believe in it. As a traveling nurse she just moved to the Big Apple in order to start her new job at the hospital. But things don't really go as planned. Her unexpected salvation comes in the form of a tall, gorgeous and dark haired knight in shining armour. Even though Natalie swore to never fall for a man like Liam, she can’t deny the strong pull between them.
When Liam is forced to choose between becoming a King or saving Natalie's life - the choice is simple...or maybe, it's far more complicated than that.
I loved Natalie and Liam with all my heart. Their chemistry was insane! I was holding my breath all of the time in anticipation for them to finally drop their guard and give into temptation. I really needed a cold shower after reading some of their scenes. The sexual tension was palpable on every page.
Liam was such a dreamboat. I loved that he was a protective alpha who knew what he wanted, but also had a vulnerable and gentle side too. Like all the King men he loves deeply and fiercly! I could seriously swoon about him all day.
I adored Natalie and her big heart. She was a very smart, compassionate and loyal person who didn’t trust easily. She had her reasons for that, which were explained later in the book. Even though she was super sweet on the outside, she definitely had a strong core!
A huge thank you to the amazingly talented Terri E. Laine for delivering such a brilliant book full of heat, suspense and unexpected turns, that goes straight to my top favorite reads shelf of 2021! Now I'm sitting on pins and needles after that huge, jaw dropping cliffhanger and waiting with bated breath to see how Liam's and Natalie's story continues. I'm seriously obsessed with this couple and need them to get their HEA with a bow. Book #2 can't come soon enough! 5+ stars
King Me was a fantastic first book in a brand new addictive duet by Terri E. Laine. The plot was very intriguing, fast-paced and highly entertaining. I was glued to my kindle and couldn't put it down for the life of me. How Terri managed to build each layer and interconnect the King Maker and Kingdom Come books as well as Arrogant Saviour with this installment is nothing short of remarkable. The storylines truly flow into each other effortlessly. We get more and more sucked into the King world with every new mind-boggling revelation. There was intrigue and secrets, love and passion all wrapped up in Terri's beautiful and poignant writing. I'm a huge sucker for these outstanding books and truly believe that they're hands down her best work yet.
We've been already introduced to the sexy and alluring brothers Kalen and Connor King as well as their hot cousin Grant King. Now it's finally time to tell Liam King's story who comes to New York in order to force Royce King to claim him as his son. It's his mission to do right by his mother and demand his place in the King family. But he gets thrown off his plans when he meets a beautiful, sassy traveling nurse who turns out to be a welcome distraction. Liam has sworn to never fall in love again while Natalie doesn't believe that love truly exists. Yet they still can't stay away from each other hoping that their hearts can survive the storm that's coming their way.
I adore Liam and Natalie. They had such a sizzling chemistry from the get go. There was a deep instant connection between them that felt absolutely tangible. They're both indeed wonderful, charming and multi-layered characters you're immediately besotted with. Liam's great looks resemble those of the other King men while his heart is as generous, kind and capable of loving fiercely. He grew up with Grant and shares a very special bond with him. But he also wants to get to know Kalen and Connor as well as their wives and children. Liam is a protective, possesive Alpha who doesn't beat around the bush once he decides to stake his claim on a woman. Natalie is good-hearted, unspoiled and responsible. She is selfless and makes sacrifices for the people she cares about. It's no surprise that Liam and her were such a great match! Their intimate scenes were scorching and I enjoyed their funny, flirty banter immensely. Terri knows how to make you fall hard for her protagonists and to root for their HEA.
I've devoured King Me and now can't wait for the next installment. This amazingly talented author left us with a huge, jaw-dropping cliffhanger in the end that I still haven't recovered from. I recommend this book from the bottom of my heart to all fans of dreamboat heroes and strong but sweet heroines. Thank you dear Terri for another unforgettable reading experience. I'm giving this gem 5+ stars and shelving it among my top favorite reads of 2021!
recensione "a cura del blog Libri magnetici" by Meghan
The twist with which the story of Connor King and Lizzie ended, begins to unravel in this new series about the difficult, emblematic King family. Liam, infact, our protagonist, presumed and further son of the patriarch Royce, has come to New York to claim his membership in this family. This book is Liam's account of his unresolved questions about fatherhood and his relationship with Connor and Kalen. In the beginning driven only by revenge and economic reasons, Liam immediately clashes with normal life, Bailey, Kalen's wife, and Lizzie who welcome him regardless of everything.
«I was still here not only for vindication but the money too. Mostly because it would hurt Royce to part with it, and then, I also didn’t want my mother to have to worry about money ever again. However, money wea far my main goal.»
His meeting with Natalie is also coincidental and they find themselves due to a series of unforeseen circumstances to divide the same hotel room; Natalie, infact, also has a kind of hidden parent but from whom she must hide. From this moment on, a very strange bond will begin between them, made of attention and rejection, which reveals the weakness of both.
«My self-recrimination was worse than anything he’d done. In the end, I didn’t hate him. I hated myself. Why had I pushed the envelope? My action made me appear like some s.... and that was far from the truth. Never in my life had I pursued a man, especially s...... ……………….. It was Natalie’s face I saw. The way she looked at me. The way she smiled. All her ways that made me want to mark her as mine. I pushed that away.»
This is a different story, from the previous ones, because it focuses more on family ties, decisions, choices. We understand more and more the bond between Connor, Kalen and their father Royce and at the same time Liam, who just wants to belong to a family (his attachment to Grant and Teddy is proof of this). The "hot" senes are also developed differently since Liam and Natalie do not divide the complete intimacy but create a different one. The book is set, it is assumed, at the beginning of the spread of Coronavirus, but Terry Lane was very good at inserting it not as a characterizing element (that really!!! in novels/essays/monographs it doesn't have a sense!!!) but as part of the scenography on which the characters move, in a dismayed New York; so we just have to wait, shortly, to discover Natalie's story in the second book and understand if, for our protagonists, there can be a future together.
These King men, I love them, and of course the women that bring them to their knees - very subtly I might add. Liam and Nathalie - two people so attracted to each other, yet too blooming stubborn to admit to wanting more. Like the previous duet featuring this complex family, this story is written during the beginning of the pandemic, which of course provides further added complications for the characters. They’ve both ventured to New York where their paths cross, and they end up spending days together enjoying each other’s company, yet not particularly sharing their objectives, not willing to lean on each other. Liam came to confront his father, Nathalie came to get as far away from her father as possible. Destiny however is playing a bigger part in their lives, I’m sure (watch this space). Now I’ve got to wait to find out how this is going to play out. It’s killing me. Blooming duets! I never learn. I’m left in limbo, again. Hoping beyond hope that I don’t have too long to wait to find out their fate, because, let it be said, I need to know what their future brings, I’m thinking things are going to heat up, and I’m not just talking about in the bedroom.
Terri E Laine is a genius at writing romantic suspense. If you love a hot steamy read, with lovable characters, and lots of twists, then grab this first book in the duet. The 2nd os dropping soon, and is also a gripping read. It will keep you up all night turning the pages.
KING ME has all this…
✔️ Push/Pull Friends to Lovers romance ✔️ Feisty heroine ✔️ Irresistible alpha male ✔️ All the feels ✔️ Intriguing, fast-paced, addictive read
Beautiful and sexy all the way. Liam and Natalie are a perfect book pairing. I love the fact that some of the characters from the previous King books are intertwined with this book. Love it!
What a fantastic and addictive read!! I could not wait to read this and may have squealed when it arrived on my kindle. The characters and the story are top notch and you start reading, not realizing how much time passed until you get to the end. You don’t need sleep with these alpha men wondering what in the world is going to happen next. I need the next book and am anxiously waiting.
King Me, please! Terri E. Laine does not disappoint in this first book of her latest duet as Natalie and Liam are truly meant to be but fate doesn't always seem to agree. I went in blind to this story and to say it's a rollercoaster of sorts is an understatement. But what I really loved is that there is much more to Liam and Natalie's romance as both are simultaneously running to and from their difficult and mysterious families and all that that entails.
We've just tackled the tip of this crazy iceberg as Liam has come to NY to find his assumed father, the rich Royce King. In the meantime, Natalie is keeping a low profile as her new job in NY is hopefully under the radar enough in order to avoid her vindictive father. And because destiny can't leave them alone, their lives keep intersecting and the chemistry they feel cannot be denied no matter how much they fight it.
Talk about a game of cat and mouse. My head was spinning at the ongoing misunderstandings and confused hearts as Liam and Natalie are 'good' and then just as quickly things go awry once again. Add to that the continued family drama and you've got a fast-paced and wild ride.
There are many unanswered questions that I can only hope we get resolved in book 2. With quite the open ending, I'm left here with everyone else wondering just how Natalie and Liam will ultimately find their way back to one another. I'm sure it will be one heck of a read.
Hell yeah. Another book. Another journey and from an author that I really like. Terri E Laine knows what she's doing. Her writing is super intense and you will fall in love. I can guarantee it. King Me is her latest release and explores the lives of Liam and Natalie. Liam is a retired military pilot that moves back home. His mission now is to know the man who fathered him, and in order to do so, he must move to New York. On his way there... Natalie doesn't believe in love because of her parents' relationship. She's a nurse that just moved to New York. One day at the hospital... Seriously? Seriously? Why end it like this? Why? It's pure torture, agony even. The need to know more is so strong that I can't think straight. Sublime plot, very well written, super engaging, and intense. Each chapter was even more addictive than the latest and I couldn't stop reading. These characters worked perfectly and I saw myself cheering on for them. One minute things were one way and then bamm, it changed. Now I'm left wanting more and more but I can't. I can't because I don't have the next book. Will it take too long? Terri... Will it? I need more, more. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
O . M . G !!! King Me is ... WOAH! It's a roller coaster ride, that's for sure! It's emotional with lots of back and forth. It's suspenseful to say the least! I . AM . AT . A . LOSS . FOR . WORDS!
Both Liam and Natalie are great characters, very down to earth, very loyal to those closest to them. They are attracted to each other, but hold back for various reasons. There are secrets and unresolved issues that tug at them and tear them apart ... There are experiences in their past, connected to feelings they have not yet processed, that lead them to protect their hearts so as not to be hurt again ... The plot is twisted, with constantly added new events that create new problems. Their story is a page turner par excellence, a story that I had to read in one go because I couldn't put it down. Even after finishing the book, I'm still gasping for breath!
The Kings are just hot at another level and Liam has just taken that hotness up to boiling point on the temperature scale. The chemistry between Liam and Natalie is evident from the briefest of meetings, and when their paths cross again in New York their story can begin. I understand why Terri E. Laine made Liam and Natalie's story into a duet, but it has left me on the edge of my seat waiting and with eagerness for the finale. Queen Me is up next.
King Me is full of twists and turns as Liam comes to NY to state his claim as a King and Natalie is in the city undertaking a new nursing job. Their relationship is complicated, Natalie doesn't believe in love but Liam is not deterred and when he has to choose between the Kings or Natalie, there is no contest. One night changes everything but when Liam wakes up the next morning Natalie is gone, but she is his now and the fight is on!
Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow!!!! I have been dying for Liam's story and boy oh boy it was nothing I ever expected. It was so much better and a wonderful packed surprise! I have no idea how Terri writes one amazing story after another! This book gives as all the Kings and so much more. We get Kalen, Connor, their wives and their cousin Grant. Liam is heading to NY to confront his father and brothers. Along the way he crosses paths with a beautiful woman at a rest area only to meet her again by accident in NY. Not wanting to give too much away they make an agreement. From the first chapter Natalie and Liam had me cheering, laughing, yelling, swooning and so much more. Their chemistry is so hot and also so adorable as they try to figure out what they and each other truly wants. There is so much to this story that I need answers to and can't wait to get my hands on the rest!!!
Oh to the em to the gee! This book is everything and more. I have been so intrigued by the King family and now that we delve deeper into the secrets and what ifs, I am still so wrapped up in this world that Laine has created. Liam is everything and more. Broody and vengeful, trying to right the wrongs that were done to his mother and barging in on the Kings to claim his place. Natalie who just happens to be at the right place at the wrong time and these two collide. Not only passionately but the wit and banter they have is epic. But Natalie has secrets of her own and they are starting to boil over. I have to say, I am dying to know more. I lived for these two with their push and pull. I need answers. Especially with how it ended! More twists and turns are coming and I am so here for them!
Arc for honest review. Wow king Me , Is utterly delicious. Terri E Laine , never disappoints. In the first book of her new Duet Series , we meet Natalie and Liam . What a couple they make , the Chemistry and connection between them is off the charts combustible. These two are meant to be with each other , but fate intervenes. I was not sure what to expect when I first started reading , but before I knew what was happy, I found myself fully invested in their love story . I was falling so many things at once , as if I was on a emotional roller coaster . I could put Liam and Natalies story down , it was almost impossible. Before I knew it it was 2am And i was running my eyes from exhaustion but I absolutely had to finish. I need the next book ASAP
Liam is in New York trying to get what he feels is owed to him, his mother, and family because his estranged father is wealthy but never had anything to do with him. Liam wants a cut of the King family wealth what he doesn’t expect is that his estranged brothers were somewhat decent to him when he’s father is mean and denies him. Natalie is a traveling nurse in NewYork and has a few run ins with Liam and Liam being friendly allows her to stay with him while they both figure out what happens next. Natalie has a mystery surrounding her about a deal she made with her dad. I liked these two together because they had insane chemistry but still trying to navigate their lives. This is book one of a duet so it does end on a cliffhanger but I can’t wait to see how their story unfolds.
The first book in a duet featuring Liam and Natalie - epic banter, push and pull, misunderstandings, drama, mystery..the story has it all and more. These two have chemistry that you hope for in your lead characters and Terri delivers.
Liam is an alpha-hole that you cannot help but be drawn to, root for and want more of. Natalie perfectly complements him and this relationship keeps me on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next. Liam may just find the riches he so ardently seeks are found in a completely different place than he ever expected.
You will enjoy the ride so strap yourself in for an exhilarating ride that leaves you wanting more. I cannot wait for "Queen Her".
These two were complicated but yet good for each other. Liam and Natalie had lots of things in common and not sure about a relationship was one of them. They danced around friend zoning each other to not friend zoning each other they just didn’t know that they wanted to do. They were both surprised for each other because Liam went to NY for answers from his dad and Natalie was having issues with her dad also. But these two were fire!!! But the cliffhanger with the back and forth with these two is going to be really good. Can’t wait to see how this will actually be resolved.
Oh my lord we have stepped back into the king world with Liam's story. Though this is part one of the duet if you don't want to be left hanging, wait for the complete duet to be out before reading.
Now saying that your going to love Liam right from the start but its when he meets Natalie that their world come apart. The sexual tension between they two are off the chart right away. But I'm not going to tell you more because I won't spoil it for you. Nope you need to read this one and then see what happens when part two of the duet comes out just like me.
Terri has done is once again. What a book, it leaves you wanting more like yesterday.
Liam comes to New York to find answers and meet his “family” and Natalie a travelling nurse who is in New York on her next assignment.
As fate has it they meet twice in less than 24 hours and the rest is history as they say but not in this case. Then comes the drama the mystery the chemistry.
As always Terri has done a great job and that cliff hanger omg I can’t wait to read the next book like yesterday. This is a must read make sure to grab your copy.
I have been waiting for this story since I finished the previous King stories and it was more than I could have asked for. I absolutely love how the characters are all so different and you are really brought into their world immediately. From page one, I could not put it down! The storyline flows and the sexy time scenes are hot AF. 🔥
Terri E Laine is back with another King that wants answers and meeting Natalie was not in his agenda. This book is full of emotion and intrigue. I can't wait to read what's in store for these two, it going to be worth the wait.
Liam and Natalie’s chemistry is off the charts but will anything come of it? Natalie saves lives and is great at her job but Liam job is complete opposite. When Liam has to make a choice will it be love?
I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary. I need more from Liam in this book I feel like he is truly holding back and that doesn't seem his style. Natalie I feel like is giving it her all and needs to push Liam further. I need to see what happens next.
