At the end of it she will be granted a second chance at her human life, returning to the moment she died and surviving her accident. Her duty is to hunt and kill demons, but this dangerous new world demands more than just years of service. Soon she realises the demons are not the only ones threatening her survival. Her new friends are scarce and as they struggle to make it, she can’t help but wonder if the promise of a second chance was not a ruse all along.

Thanks to Astrid for sending me the book, this hasn't affected my review or enjoyment.
This was a very gripping read right from the start. I must admit, ghosts and vampires aren't my usual go to but I felt this plot was written perfectly and was fast paced. I hadn't really read anything like this before in terms of plot and worldbuilding so it did feel unique to me. I was heavily invested in the plot and read the final half of the book in one sitting.
I enjoyed the worldbuilding and I thought that it was done really well by giving the reader enough information and development without it being overhwleming, as I feel the world where the ghosts belong could be huge
All the characters were likeable, Ameerah annoyed me a little bit and felt a bit chaotic and spoilt but I think this was intended. Some of her plot line was a little bit repetitive, I found she would go through the same events a few times and always came out the other end depsite almost dying on multie occasions but this didn't deter from my enjoyment too much. Blake felt like a very toxic and masculine character, but again, this felt intended and I think it was portrayed well.
I was suprised at the dark topics discussed in this book so people might need to be aware of the trigger warnings but I felt like trauma and grieving were handled well in this book.
What a great start to a paranormal fantasy series. I look forward to the next installment.

•The cover of the book looks classy and intense. It represents the book is going to be an intensive read for everyone along with the title which is perfect and eye catching.
•This is a well written story which is filled with action, mystery, romance and fantasy which all had me intrigued and hooked.
•Ameerah’s life comes to cessation when a car skids into her on the way home. Her ghost is sent to the parallel world Idolon. The world of Idolon is filled with ghosts and monsters.
•If she can kill the demons for a set amount of years, she is guaranteed a new start in her old life.
•In order to survive at Idolon, Ameerah need to rely on her trainer, her master, and her wits. Learning her way around a gun and a fight takes up most of the story.
Will she be able to make enough friends and allies to survive at Idolon? Will she be able to start her old life again?
You have to grab the book to know what happens next !
•The book has a nice mix of different creatures of Idolon and there are plenty of good action scenes where Ameerah is fighting for her life.
•The fantasy elements were going on in background as the story progresses.
•Reading this I was lost for the first few pages, bored too. But the book picked up the pace quite well. And it kept me on the edge. The language is so elegant, neither lucid nor very difficult. Just the right amount of heavy words have been used here.
•The writing of the story is engaging and crisp The plot and the storyline are outstanding which has kept my interest throughout the duration of reading.
•All the events throughout the course of the novel seem credible and the way their story sizzles is worth praise.
•If you like paranormal stories you'll surely enjoy this. Recommended from my side !!!

This book is a wild ride. The world is filled with doom and gloom and Ameerah is thrown into it. This is unlike any ghost story I’ve ever read. It’s an entire realm of demons, vampires, ghosts, and any other monster you can think of. A lot of the time vampires are romanticized but it was great seeing them in a truly villainous way.
The world building was good. I felt completely immersed in this hellish landscape. There are a lot of dark topics discussed throughout the book so you definitely need to be in the right state of mind to read this. I will list trigger warnings below.
I felt invested in the journey and how these people survive. The concept of the world is interestineg and unique. I am very curious to see how it all plays out.
There were some parts that felt a little repetitive, but other than that it was a great read!
Rating: 3.75/5 ⭐️
Trigger warnings: rape, violence, death, suicide, addiction
Thank you to the author for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review!

Ameerah’s life comes to a sudden halt when a car skids into her on the way home. Her ghost is sent to the parallel world Idolon, a place where vampires and molochs roam. If she can kill the demons that stalk the night, for a set amount of years, she is guaranteed a new start in her old life. A clean slate as if her death never happened. But it isn’t just the demons she has to worry about. People can be just as treacherous. Ameerah will battle human and monster alike, as she learns to navigate her new life, or rather, death.
The world of Idolon is filled with ghosts and monsters, making the time Ameerah spends filled with conflict. The focus of the story is on Ameerah and her developing relationships and struggles as she tries to come to terms with what she must do. Learning her way around a gun and a fight takes up most of the story, but the training does not become tedious or boring. Instead, you watch as Ameerah battles with herself to become a better and stronger woman.
The main focus of the story is on Ameerah and her need to belong. There are less hunting and fighting scenes than expected, and the fantasy elements seem to be placed into the background as the story progresses. There are moments where she continues out her mission to hunt down the demons, but the scenes tend to be shorter than when there is drama in Ameerah’s daily life. I would certainly recommend this book to readers who enjoy relationships filled with drama and a bit of tragedy.
The world-building was enough to establish the base rules of the world, but the settings in Idolon needed a bit more description. The main hang out for Ameerah and her crew was well laid out, but anytime they went out on a hunt, or date, I felt like I didn’t quite know where they were. I also wanted more of an explanation behind some of the healing mechanics, but I have a feeling that may be in store for a follow up book.
When Colour became Grey has a little bit of mystery, romance and fantasy added to the mix. If you enjoy watching characters grow and develop this is the book for you. Ameerah goes through many different stages of her new life, and there is plenty to come with the next installment!

First, I want to thank the author for gifting me this book in exchange for an honest review.
The premise of this book is definitely interesting and different, I found the world building interesting, but a bit lacking but it definitely builds up in the last part of the book, so I am hoping that the second one clears it up a bit. I found the book and the writing fast paced and with intense scenes, but I did find that some had the pace a bit off, something were taking a bit long and others were happening too fast, and should have had more introduction, like the development of Ben relationship and of Kim relationship. But these details get better throughout the book, and we get to see the relations getting stronger.
I liked Ameerah, I felt that she was a strong but logical character, has all main characters she makes some dubious decisions but I think that she was written in a way that we see that she is strong and has a strong personality but isn't a magically natural and chosen by the gods good at everything character, which is a bonus, we get to see her fail and make mistakes, a lot of mistakes, and get to see her grow from them, I would like her to grow a bit more, but I think we'll see that in the next book. I also really like how the author writes trauma and addiction, I liked how she wrote the way the character reacts to two traumatizing things that happen to her (you'll know what I am talking about when you read it), and how she deals with addiction and how guilty she feels but still cannot not do it!
Although I liked some things, there were also things I wasn't felling, like the romantic relationships. I didn't feel the spark or attraction between either Ben nor Blake. I didn't feel much neither for them, as characters, neither for their relations. And I am normally a sucker for romance, I think it was partially because of the way the triangle was done, I didn't feel Ben and Ameerah fall in love, I was told, and Blake attitudes are toxic. So, I have to say that I hope that, IF she gets a love interest in the next one, it is another one or at least worked on. At the same time, I don't think it is a book that aims to be a romance, so if that is not a thing you are looking for, you'll probably will be fine without it.
My final opinion is that the book starts kind of off, a lot of explanation of the world, but it picks up the pace and gets way better, living you in a cliff-hanger that won't let you not pick up the next! It is definitely an interesting and creative world and idea. I would also say it is a dark fantasy with vampires, that looks like it is going to get broader in the next one.

"I was not suicidal; I was just swimming in a sea of grey with the painful memories of what colours looked like."
Let me just start by stating that I love that quote so much.
This story follows Ameerah who dies and finds herself in a parallel universe as a ghost. She is sentenced to over 60 years to fighting demons in this world if she wants to return to her human world and get a second change at life.
I absolutely loved the premise of this and the unique world that Astrid created. It's like nothing I've seen before. Honestly the whole Demon fighting thing reminded me a bit of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, which is one of my favorite shows ever. I do believe this book would be great as a show as well! The demon fighting sequences were really cool.
However, there was a lot more relationship drama in this than I expected and way les demon fighting. Although this does turn in the second half of the book (which I loved a lot more). There's also a storyline of addiction in this (so trigger warnings for that!) that was really when done.
I quite liked Ameerah as a MC, although I was quite annoyed sometimes at how much stock she put in the whole personal drama while there was 10000 demons to slay... But like I said, this does get better later in the book!
There are also some vampires in this book and I really liked that they were portrayed as pure and weren't romanticized like is the case in a lot of books lately.
The ending took a mad turn and left me with so many questions, I really hope there will be a sequel soon because I want to know what the f happened.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone that likes a paranormal setting and doesn't mind a bit of romance drama thrown in the mix.
Also Astrid is a really great person, I loved chatting about her book with her. There's just some extra experience to chatting and freaking out about a book to the author :D
A copy of this book was kindly gifted to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.

**3.75 stars**
After an unexpected accident, Ameerah wakes up in the alternative universe as a ghost where she must serve decades as a demon hunter, once this sentence is complete she will be granted a second chance in her human life. We follow Ameerah on her journey where she finds out quickly it's not only the demons she has to be afraid of..
This is such a promising start to a fantasy series! I loved the world building and felt interested in the story and where it was going to go within a few a chapters. I thought the plot was done really well and enjoyed the twists and turns.
The characters were well developed and I'm definitely excited to see where this series goes next!
The only reason this wasn't a full four star read for me is because I found the hunting scenes a bit repetitive but I think that's more down to personal taste.

A completely different story to enjoy during your free time. I just finished this book and i felt like i am still into the world that has been created by the author in this story.
Let me introduce you to the storyline-
The story is mainly about Ameerah. After her unexpected death, Ameerah is sentenced to several decades as a ghost in a parallel world.
The book is written fantastically and there are plenty of good action scenes where Ameerah is fighting for her life. The elements of suspense and romance are blended perfectly. The world building is superb and the world of Idolon is quite interesting, although the reader is left with some questions which may be answered when you read the whole story. The ending is really surprising and i would say that the author is so good with imagination, commendable imagination skills.
Overall this is a very gripping and exciting read with many twist and turns to the story. Definitely a recommending book which will keep all the readers interested till the end.

I found this book enjoyable and fast paced. We meet Ameerah who is a student in France, pretty quickly she is involved in an accident and dies. She is transported to another world where she is a ghost and begins training to hunt demons. Her trainer Blake is quite tough on her at the beginning, the world is explained really well during this part of the book. Ameerah makes some friends, including Kim and she meets someone called Ben. Her relationship with Ben develops although Blake is opposed to it as something is not quite right and he suspects he was involved in something sinister with his recruit. After a tragic incident, Ameerah goes off the rails and develops bad habits that start to change her. There is a lot going on this book, plenty of action and violence which made it exciting to read. Toward the end, a little bit more is revealed and it is left on a bit of a cliffhanger! I would definitely read the next one as I need to know what happens. Overall I really enjoyed this.

Ameerah had barely begun her life when it ended. An average woman suddenly finds herself in a parallel world, required to hunt demons and vampires for years before she will be allowed a chance to return to our own world. In Idolon, there are dangers everywhere and Ameerah will need to rely on her trainer, her master, and her wits in order to survive. Will she be able to make enough friends and allies to survive the world she is in or will she be doomed to give in to her own demons?
The book has a nice mix of different creatures of the night and there are plenty of good action scenes where Ameerah is fighting for her life. There are also elements of romance here and they play out nicely throughout the story. The world of Idolon is quite interesting although the reader is left with questions as to why Ameerah was chosen to end up there. It's likely that some of that will be answered in coming volumes so it's not too distracting to the reader to not have all the answers by the end.
The end of the book is able to surprise the reader while still concluding the story for the most part. The worldbuilding is done well and most of the rules of the supernatural creatures seem to stay consistent within the book. It would have been nice to see a little more background of Ameerah's life before she dies but that is a minor complaint given the rest of the story. It will be interesting to see the continuing adventures of Ameerah in the next volume and I am looking forward to reading it.
If you like paranormal stories. stories that take place on different worlds similar to our own or shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer this is definitely worth a read.

totally unique!!
I was gifted this book from the lovely author for an honest review and I am so, so glad she did!
I have never read anything like this book. Being in between life and death, “working” for a second chance at life? Loved it!
Seeing a young woman work through her life, gain and lose friends. Deal with challenges and struggles.
And I’m going to say it now, I totally ship Blake and Ameerah 🥰
Twists and turns.
AND THE END????
I need the next book ASAP! What a cliffhanger!!
Very well written and I just truly enjoyed this book. Definitely recommend this book!!

The story is a really interesting read, nicely paced and with very likeable characters.
I quite liked that the reader accompanied Ameerah during her entire day, the moloch hunting just as well as her normal activities like spending time in the pub with Kim or going out with her love interest Ben. This gave the story a “feel-good atmosphere” as I might call it which I prefer to the hopelessness and misery of dystopian fantasy novels. The pacing of the story is very fast, there hardly isn’t a chapter were something exciting and/or unpredictable happens. Ameerah is always on the run, always fighting new creatures and helping her friends and she more than once almost payed with her life.
I loved that Lorenzen included the topic of love, friendship and the occasional relationship drama just as much as thrilling action and suspense. There’s more than one unpredictable plot twist and more than one mystery that must be solved and uncovered.
All in all “When Colour Became Grey” is a very nice and exciting read that keeps the reader hooked. Though be aware of that wretched cliffhanger at the end and let us all cry together until the sequel will be released.

This book was very kindly gifted to me by the author, and oh my I am so glad I had the opportunity to read this book!
This book had me intrigued from the offset - a girl who dies and is given a second chance of life by become a demon killing ghost!
The story had a strong start and once I got into this book I could not put it down. I was fully immersed in the world, the characters and their relationships. The friendship between Ameerah and Kim felt so real, not forced or fake.
There were a few plot twists throughout the story which really sets you up for the next book in the series and leave you with more questions than you would expect.
The book ends on a cliffhanger which leaves you wanting the next book as soon as you can get your hands on it.

3.5*
The premise of this book was really intriguing to me, and I think the story really lived up to that premise. The main thing I loved about this book was the world. I found it to be really interesting and unique, and I loved finding out more about the world and the lore as the book went on. I also really grew to like the characters, and I'm intrigued to see where their stories will go in the next book. I thought the pacing was a little bit off in the beginning of the book, but it got a lot better in the second half.
Overall I think this was a really solid book, and I'm really glad I got the chance to pick it up.

Book review
When colour became grey
By ACLorenzen
I received this book from the author in exchange for a review.
The synopsis was really exciting. The story is set in an alternate world between life and death.
Ameerah is sentenced to dwell in this alternate world for a given set of years until she can return back to life if she fulfilled her duties.
Her new assignment is to hunt and kill demons together with other "ghosts".
But as the story unfolds she discovers that there is much more to this world and many secrets kept by the other ghosts that dwell there.
The story takes a major turn around halfway through. I was not prepared for the turn of events and I was not able to predict the happenings.
At the same time the author comes up with many major details and secrets are revealed in the last part of the book that makes me REALLY interested in knowing when the next book will be out? :P
It ended with a blast and i think the continuing will be even better in this series. :)
I would definitely recommend this book if you like otherworldly adventures, and more scary demon hunter adventures. It is a dark adventure that includes demons and vampires.
It is also a wonderful romance and strong friendship
I really enjoyed the story and in several parts I could not put it down without reading "just" one more chapter.
I give it a 4 out of 5 stars:
What takes it down to a 4 is that I would have liked even more details around the world and some events were over a bit fast.
But the series has major potential and I am looking forward to the continuing of the story :)

First thank you to the author for sending my a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I have very mixed feelings about this book. The premise was very interesting and I really enjoyed the first third of the book. I was really engaged and the writing was easy to read and had a nice flow. The action was good and had me turning pages, but didn't get heart pounding intense. But after that the plot got jumbled and the side plots seemed to get in the way. There were also a lot of twists that didn't really make sense especially at the end. I think it was trying to set up the next book and have a cliff hanger type thing going on but it didn't work for me. There was way too much new information given without any explanation.
This book also has a lot of dark themes and because of that it took me awhile to get through. It is not a happy books, the action was good but the main character was put through the ringer with little to no hope at all... we were also told most of the story/what was happening instead of being shown through dialogue and/or action. I also wish there had been more rules about the world given because I often felt lost or thought the plot took a random direction because of the addition of a rule that was not there previously.
I don't know I really wanted to like this but with the jumpy plot and the super dark themes that gave little to no hope it was a miss for me. I just need some hope in a book even if it's not going to be solved in book 1
⚠️TW: sexual assault, attempted rape, drug addiction, withdrawal, graphic scenes and depictions, gore, thoughts of suicide, attempted suicide, loss of a loved one, alcoholism, abuse, use of deadly weapons (guns and knives), violence

When Colour Met Grey was ever so kindly gifted to me by the author for review.
For those who enjoy fantasy, specifically paranormal fantasy that’s digestible for NA (and YA) readers then I think this will be a book you enjoy. It has a unique plot, and is set in a parallel world filled with creatures such as vampires and demons.
It is a quick read that is easy to get through. Whilst for me I would have liked a bit more character development and I felt some parts of the plot were rushed, I did get through the book quickly and was intrigued to see how the plot developed.
If you like your paranormal fantasy with a splash of romance then I’d recommend you give this book a try and support a self-published author. Whilst the book wasn’t completely for me as I just wanted more in areas, I think others will really enjoy this.

The story is about Ameerah, who suffers a car crash that kills her. In the entire novel, you will find many ups and downs, mystery, action, and turns that keep you to the plot. The story is very interesting and has kept you tightly hooked throughout the end and it is also a fast pace story.
💐When a car kills her, Ameerah's life ends abruptly. She becomes a ghost on Idolon, an alternate universe of molochs and vampires. If she succeeds in her quest, she can return to her innocent human life, as if she had never died. But her worries are more than just the demons, it's also her fellow ghosts stuck on Idolon.
💐The construction of the world was great. In this fierce landscape, I felt totally immersed. It's a great story for someone loving a dark twist to the usual fantasy story.

The first part of the book was a bit slow for me, but than the action kicked in and I simply couldn't put it down! The descriptions of either places and characters are not very thorough and, though at first I found it impoverished the book, I realized that they helped me see things like Ameerah, the way this world resembles ours, but at the same time it is so different, colorless, lifeless. The action scenes are amazing, written with a series of short sentences that really get you in the mood. I didn't bond with a particular character, but I liked Blake. As the story goes on, as Ameerah tries to understand this world, it gets trickier and more complicated. I spent the second half of the book like "Ameerah, what are you doing?? Stop it! Are you crazy??" 🤣
As for the fantasy elements, they were mostly in the background, that's why I wouldn't define this book as fantasy. There wasn't a lot of romance, but I preferred it that way. The ending was perhaps a bit rushed, but I'm very curious to know what's going to happen...
The language used is not very difficult and I recommend it to anyone who has a B1+ level of English (I personally think you will find it easy but also challenging).
Thanks to the author for gifting this book 🥰

"I was not suicidal; I was just swimming in a sea of grey with the painful memories of what colours looked like."
When Ameerah dies unexpectedly, she is thrown into a dark and hellish parallel universe riddled with other ghosts and demons. At the end of her sentence, Ameerah will have the opportunity to return to her human life, but she must fulfil her duties to hunt and kill demons first. However, the more time she spends in this gloomy parallel world, the more she begins to question whether she will ever have a second chance at her human life.
From the moment I read the synopsis, I had a good feeling about this book. I found When Colour Became Grey to be a gripping, fierce and fast-paced read. World building in fantasies is often very dense, but this was certainly not the case with WCBG. The construction of the parallel world was pitched at the perfect level of complexity, containing important details and developments, but without being ‘info-dumpy’. I enjoyed learning about Idolon and found the gloominess of the parallel landscape really atmospheric. The overall premise of the story is very unique and seamlessly blends a range of monstrous creatures that I enjoyed reading about. I particularly appreciated how callous and malicious the vampires were, given that their intelligence and blood thirst is so often romanticised in other stories. This also made for some tense high stakes scenes. Lorenzen's writing was incredibly easy to follow and made for an addictive read.
The only element that I wasn’t fond of was the love triangle. Given that I didn’t really care about one of the love interests, I just didn’t find myself fully absorbed or enamoured by the romance scenes throughout. I actually didn’t feel that connected to any of the characters either, besides Ameerah. I’m hoping that the sequel will contain further character development and complexity.
TW: attempted rape, addiction, suicide, abuse, violence, death.
WCBG is a unique and gripping fantasy and the perfect starter read if you’re new to the genre. Thank you to the author for gifting me an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. I can’t wait to read the next instalment! 🌫✨

When Colour Became Grey Kindle Edition
by A Lorenzen 📚
My Rating - 4.7/5 ⭐
Blurb📚
After her unexpected death, Ameerah is sentenced to several decades as a ghost in a parallel world.
My Review📚
🍁🎩Starting off with the title and the cover of the book, after reading the story I feel the title and cover did their work perfectly. Like the title and the cover were compatible with each other and were totally relevant to the story. I really like the cover personally; I am sure you all will get that after reading the story.
🍁🎩When Color Became Grey involves the combination of a fantasy world with the main character who struggle to survive against many problems.
Moving Forward the primary focus is on Ameerah and her desire to belong. There are fewer scenes of hunting and battle than anticipated, and as the tale continues, the fantasy elements appear to be put in the background.
🍁🎩Ameerah being the central character of the book , the story focuses on her relationships, the problems she faces and story has perfect blend of Fantasy and mystery
It was totally a new story to me and it introduced me to variety of elements. I enjoyed the author's writing style and how it fascinated me to read in one sitting.
🍁🎩I read the book over this weekend. I started reading this around 2am and you guys know what I was hooked with the book till early morning until I finished the book in one sitting.
🍁🎩Without breaking any suspense, I would definitely recommend it to the people who are looking for a book with a completely different story. It can also be a really great travel read. I would like to thank Author for giving me such an experience through the book.

🎈The book's cover looks elegant and rich. It reflects that the book will be an intensive reading, with a perfect title and a brush of the eye. The story is about a girl who is in an accident and becomes a fantasy. In the whole book you'll find many ups and downs, mystery, action, twists and turns that hold you in the storey.
🎈Ameerah life abruptly ends when a car goes home to her. Her ghost is returned to the Idolon, the alternate universe where molochs and vampires roam. When she can destroy the devils that scatter the night, for a period of years, a new beginning in her old life would be ensured. A blank slate as if she had never died. But it's not the demons for whom she would fret. People can be as unjust. She learns to negotiate her new life, rather, death, Ameerah can fight men as well as men.
🎈Ameerah and her desire to be part of the core focus of the plot. Hunting and battle sequences are less than expected and fantasy elements emerge as the plot progresses to be put in the background.
🎈At times she resumes her quest in search of demons; however the scenes are generally shorter than when Ameerah's everyday life reveals drama. I would probably recommend this book to people who love dramatic and sad relationships.
🎈All the incidents during the whole course of the book are believable and commendable. You would definitely like this if you like ghost stories.

Idea and worldbuilding:
The idea of the book is really interesting and original. The worldbuilding was done really well so that you were introduced in the world really easily.
Characters:
I really liked the main character Ameerah. She is a strong female lead and it is written really realistic. It gets shown how she deals with what happened to her. She also deals with mental health issues.
But also the other more important characters in the books were written really well and thought through.
Pacing:
The pacing was a bit off sometimes. I couldn't tell how much time later it was. It was usually stated in the book, which helped, but a lot of times I didn't see how so much time was over.
At first the books was a bit slow. The daily life was described, which was interesting to read but not that catching, but the second half was really catchy. I read the whole secone half in one sitting because I definently wanted to know what will happen next.
Sypnopsis:
Ammerah dies in the real world and ends up as a ghost in a parallel world. There she is sentenced to serve dor multiple decades so she can return to the moment before she died.
A last point that I want to add that there are a few trigger warnings for the book: rape, addiction and suicidal thoughts
4/5🌟
I am definitely looking forward to how Ameerah's story will continue!
You can buy this book on Amazon!

I want to start my review by thanking this author for gifting me this book in exchange for an honest review.
I hadn’t read any paranormal fiction before, so this was definitely a new genre for me. The world was really interesting and unique, and I liked the blend between paranormal and fantasy that was going on.
The premise for the story was overall a really fascinating one, but I would have liked to have seen more of a connection between the characters at times. The story is told over a long period, which left some bits feeling a little more rushed than I would have liked at times and left us missing a lot of the moments that would have really ignited the connection between Ben and Ameerah etc.
However, the fight scenes were exciting and I was genuinely surprised by the turn the book took toward the end.

The language is lucid so that everyone can enjoy reading it. Content of the story is very interesting. You won't get bored while going through this perfect mysterious novel.
The story is about a girl Ameera who goes through an accident which turns her into a ghost. In the complete novel you will alot of ups and downs, mystery , action , twists and turns which makes you stick to the plot.
You will find out how she lives in Idolon trying to kill the demons which will help her getting a new fresh life.
The way how Ameera makes her friends, how she deals with others . The way she makes decisions for herself in the worst times. The hope for a next life and her efforts to survive in Idolon is very intriguing.

I want to start off this review by saying the worldbuilding and the story idea behind this is wonderful, the monsters were creative and the fight scenes were very well written.
I liked Ameerah, for the most part she was strong and fierce and wouldn't back down even as men tried to dictate her life.
I couldn't really connect with her and Ben, and so the big moment that changes Ameerah and pushes her down a dark path was lacking for me. I was told she loved him and I wasn't shown.
Though Blake was honestly not a better option, but I felt it more with him and Ameerah.
The characters are great and the action is great, and the writing has lots of potential.
Can't wait to see more from this author.

I was sent this book by the author and I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t know what to think...but I absolutely loved it 🤩.
I don’t usually read paranormal fiction, but this book was absolutely so good; the writing was a very unique style that allows the reader to connect with the characters very quickly ☺️ even though the situation is probably never gonna happen in real life 😂. And I think that’s so cool that I could connect with Ameera even then.
If you enjoy paranormal fantasy, I definitely recommend you read this 🙌 and I’ll definitely be looking out for any more books to come 🥰

The writing style wasn’t for me, unfortunately. However the plot and story was very unique, and for that I made an exception to overlook my inability to vibe with the writing. This is perfect for paranormal fantasy fans, but please do heed the trigger warnings as mentioned in other reviews. This book is YA but covers some heavy topics.
