The seminal writings and philosophies around the drive for independence and the creation of the great experiment in democracy that the modern world has ever known, this was an extremely enlightening and engaging read. If you're interested in the birth of America from a political point of view, look no further - This collection is pure gold.
My only real complaint is that I would have liked the inclusion of the Constitutional Amendments that came after the Bill of Rights was put into effect, but I get why they weren't included because this is a collection of the writings of the Founding Fathers and those later amendments were not part of their purview. I just think they would have made this more functional as a reference book, but that may just be me being persnickety.
