It’s the last day of the school year in 1994 and for fifteen-year-old Chris, it’s going to be another boring summer of staying at his aunt’s farm in southern Illinois. At least, that’s what he thought until he, along with his brother Brian and cousin Sam, meets the hermit. What follows is a summer of intrigue, suspicion, and fear that has lasting consequences. One thing is for certain though–things aren’t always what they seem. "The Hermit" is a supernatural thriller set in a rural community in southern Illinois.

What a Great Adventure

Amazing Story
This book was truly one I could not put down. Every time I thought I had it figured out, it would take a different spin.

Weird things are happening
Summer vacations can be fun, others can be boring, and then there is Chris's vacation. Twists and turns until the end. Very different and a fun story.

Coming of age
Great coming of age book to read . I was enjoying it a lot at the beginning thinking the story was going one way , but by the middle of the book I got bored with it . there wasn't enough about the hermit told , to much about the children . it could have been a four star for me with the book going into more detail about the hermit .

Good Scary Book
Was looking for a type of Stephen King like book of the scary nature and I found it.

Great Read
This was a story with a very unique ending. Caught me by surprise. Good characters, good action great ending. Highly recommended.
