I really enjoyed this book. I was surprised to learn that there is so much that mothers can do to increase the probabilities of their babies having a healthier life. I’ve seen many members of my family and friends struggling with asthma, eczema, and allergies, and so I believe that this book shares truly valuable information. All the information provided is science based, but it’s all explained in an easy and entertaining way. I would recommend this book to every parent to be!
It’s a must read for pregnant women and parents. Honestly it’s a really useful book for everyone. It’s an easy and fun read, which is very impressive given the amount of studies and articles the author had to sum up and compare. It makes a very compelling case against the overuse of antibiotics and gives you easy ways to improve your family’s health through nutrition.
It's a nice and informative book about how parents can prevent kids from having allergies, asthma and eczema. I'm ttc and I'll be using it as a companion. It talks about a friendly bacteria, and then about antibiotics. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review
I loved listening to this book on audible. It was just what I needed. I had stopped taking as good of care of myself as I should. Blaming it on the pandemic and being too busy juggling work and a toddler.
I feel refocused and equipped with the information I need to move forward with taking better care of my body for future children. There are so many great tips on how and where to get started making changes that have the biggest impact on your microbiome and in turn, your child’s future health.
I love all the extra links and information you can access on their website to further guide you in various aspects of specific topics. The research stated is supported by collection of scientific studies but personalised by the author’s own journey.
Such an important book on pregnancy! As someone who suffers from multiple life threatening allergies as well as asthma, I always fretted about my potential child's allergy risk and worried it was just bad genes, out of my control. With this book, I feel more at peace, even though there is an almost overwhelming amount of things to do to decrease a child's allergy and asthma risk. As the author stated throughout, first do no harm and try to make small changes along the way. Focus on a good diet and avoiding toxins in cleaning supplies as a starting point, but add in more good choices as you get better at making them.
I thoroughly enjoyed the specialized diet, supplement and research content in this book. Its backed by evidence, with simple to use advice on how to nourish babies while in the womb and even before. Allergies and eczema are significantly on the rise. Two of my kids had eczema and the other two had allergies. The knowledge I learned is empowering and easy to follow..knowing there are scientifically-backed steps moms can take to ensure the chances of their baby suffering with allergies, eczema or asthma will be significantly minimized. Highly recommend.
Essential reading to reduce the chances of allergy for any parent-to-be.
Incredibly well researched, this book is an essential guide for any new parent-to-be to help reduce the risk of allergies and asthma in their child. The book covers mother's nutrition, nutrition for your new baby, gut microbiome, birth and feeding choices and your home environment. The book is full of practical advice and tips, backed up by research evidence. Highly recommended!
It's okay. There were some points that I knew were not exactly true based on my doctor and my won research (IE. certain points about gestational diabetes). Some of the research seemed one sided, without clear references and without counter points which always makes me skeptical. There were also some interesting sections. Overall, it was okay
⭐️2.5⭐️ Several times throughout the book the authors either stated things I know to be wrong or made misleading statements. Even though they give a lot of new information on an area where it is difficult to find information or good arguments, I dont want to update too much when I dont find the authors trustworthy.
