My review will be biased because I've known Lakshmi through her writing for almost 7 years now. She undoubtedly wears her heart on her sleeve. Her prose meanders but it is a pleasant kind of meandering like ambling down your own memory lane. Her idiolect and language of nostalgia appealed to me the most. I savored the refreshing imagery that also glistened her unadultered fascination for birds. All in all this book made for a refreshing yet comforting read, like the warmth of fireplace on a chilly evening.
