Teddy Sinatra: The Heat Is On started on a high note but ended up on the lowest bass. This is another story about Teddy and Nikki - not nearly one of the best. Teddy nor Nikki maintained the characteristics that you loved about them in their other books.
Teddy's love for Nikki was inconsistent. Seemingly he cared more about the Sinatra's syndicate than he did about Nikki. Did he really give up his dreams because of Joey's death. Teddy could go weeks without even talking to Nikki and often didn't show up or call her when expected. Nikki didn't come across as the strong woman that we knew. She sometimes seemed weak and uncertain, especially about Teddy. On the other hand. Her strength was upfront when she didn't hesitate to shoot to death men who she thought were about to kill her. Even though the killings were justified, she came off as a vicious cold blooded murderer. Was she being groomed for a different job in one of Mick's businesses? Was she expected to be a partner to Teddy in more ways than one.
This book was all over the place and introduced characters willy nilly. It was hard to understand who they were, who they were after and why. Mick's attitude concerning Nikki was different. Yes, he thought she was the woman for Teddy but he didn't hesitate to show extreme anger toward her. Often, the plot was nonexistent or made little sense.
The book appeared pieced together with no real flow. All the Sinatras and their husbands or wives showed up at a couple's dinner at Big Daddy. Why? No Gabrinis showed up even when "the heat was on." There was just too much that didn't make sense. Parts of the book was typical Mallory Monroe while others couldn't possibly have been written by her.
Still the typical grammatical errors. The sex between Mick and Jenay or Teddy and Nikki wasn't believable nor was it what you were used to in Monroe's books. There were too many inconsistencies and the characters often were unbelievable.
I had high hopes when I first started reading the book but was left with most of them dashed. Once again, I don't know if I'll continue to read books by this author.
Mallory did not disappoint. There were blast from the past coming out of the woodwork. Mick and Charles ' parents were one big mess. This was the first time in many books that we get an insight to Mick and Charles' upbringing in their dysfunctional family. Duke and Jackie are growing up to be characters. They tickled me telling Mick about their school day.
I couldn't put my Kindle down until I finished the story. Joe's scheming is still affecting the family even after his death. When will these people learn they can't one up the Sinatra family. The only ones to Lethem inline are their women whom they dearly live. Teddy is Mick's Mimi me, and just like Roz did, Nikki had to Jack him up. I think he's finally seeing the error of his ways because he does not want to lose Nikki. She Is his Roz.
I already loved Teddy and Nikki but I think I love them even more. I love that Mick was more loving and fatherly to both Nikki and Teddy than he has ever been before..Love how badass Nikki has become and now she is official. Duke and Jackie are a trip but hysterical but Mick as a kid true Mick!! ..and Mick more caring and fatherly was such a nice change..great book...more more more
First off let me say that before I chose this installment on the Teddy Sinatra series ,I read some of the reviews. Well I have to say with some of them, what story were you reading! This installment of Teddy's and Nikki 's life was so very on point. The writer hit on all counts, especially the ones that are important. We finally get a little peak into the younger years of the Sinatra brothers and its a dozy. I love that Nikki is not a shrinking violet and can hold her own with the big boys. Also I love that a gangster can recognize gangster when it comes knocking. This was a good story and the plot and all the under currents were just as good. Also the choice not to bring in the other family members was a good move because this had to play out for Teddy and Nikki. If you want the action and the love ,pick this up and it to your collection.
Well Teddy is well overloaded, in work. Since his brother Joey died he is now managing it all, but it appears Joey left something in the works. Teddy and Nikki are not on same page emotionally, Teddy is not committing himself fully to Nikki, so she wants to move on with her life. Nikki is a stuff lady who does not take any nonsense, she tells it like it is, but not to Mick Sinatra, if he asks a direct question she doesn't give excuses to Him, she tells him honestly. Mick sees something in Nikki that he doesn't want his son to loose, Mick is not aware that Teddy and Nikki are at odds in relationship. Nikki is now suddenly targeted for unknown reason and is nearly attacked but using her wits about her, she successfully defends herself and kills attackers but not able to get away. She is arraigned by the FBI for supposedly killing three agents, she calls Mick for help and he comes running. Nikki believes Mick doesn't love her like that, but she still wants to trust herself as she is not fully a Sinatra member. Hammer Reese is called into the fray to pull strings for Mick to get Nikki out of situ, but Hammer can't help but gives them 72hrs to find out what is going on.
In there deep investigation they find that one of the agents has Charles Sinatra as his next of kin, so big daddy is pulled in to drama. Apparently the woman that Charles saved from their father/mother when they were younger is the main person of interest in this drama and it all connected to Nikki Landlord in LA who tried to rape her, relatives seeking revenge. Nikki holds her own in the fight and gives her and big daddy a chance to survive. Big Daddy knows they have another tough cookie in the family by saying 'not another one's to Mick but he just smiles.
So the drama comes to conclusion, Teddy and Nikki saves their relationship and Teddy has the sense to keep Nikki and finally married her, the whole family in attendance Gabrini and Sinatra, with Mick giving her away. Teddy finally decided that he wants Nikki by his side in full sense, she becomes his partner in syndicate crime business but he has to tell his dad. Roz asks them both to Mick office to say this, when they do, they expect fireworks! But to their surprise Mick agreed to this, and he gives her position of Enforced to work beside Teddy. Nikki is now in her element as she is a tough Val who can stand up for herself and takes no nonsense.
Love the ending as I can see another element of a story to be done with Teddy and Nikki together and let's see how the rest of capos deal with her in charge as Enforcer to Teddy, can't wait for this installment to arrive.
A Very Good and Thrilling Suspenseful Interracial Romance
Teddy Sinatra: The Heat Is On is a very good and thrilling suspenseful interracial romance that earned a rating of five stars. I enjoyed reading this book and found it to be exciting as Teddy and Nikki fight for her freedom and their love. They also have to deal with Mick Sinatra to make changes in their lives. This installment of Teddy Sinatra series is just as good as the other books in the series and I would recommend it to everyone who enjoys good suspenseful thrillers.
Thank you Mallory for another great book. I love the spin added to each book through out the life stories and family connections. You always bring them together brilliantly. And finally allowing Teddy to get to the best life had to offer. Husband. I think it was perfect allowing them to also work together since Teddy rarely had time to live a life, he can protect her and spend time with her at the same time. I can't wait for the next book😉😘 Who will be next🤔
At ,at last Teddy and Nikki got their break Twist and turns to this book Nikki is no doormat. She stands up to Teddy and call him out when he slips up. Joey is dead and his actions are still causing pain to the family. He was a very hungry crazy power young man Great work done Ms Munroe
OMG!!!!! I had to slow myself down from reading this book. I enjoyed this book so much. I always loved Nikki and Teddy.. The two of them working together is awesome. The first time she called him for help they worked together. This will be a great adventure. Lol. Love love love the code. 😍😍😍😍😍 lol. Thanks for another great read.
I'm not sure how old they are but I laughed so hard In the bed next to my husband who was sleep This statement right here Duke said Daddy if you encourage Jackie, who loves to fight, then you’re all but sealing my fate as a black man heading straight for the penitentiary. I’m not trying to get locked up.
Although it was a long wait it was worth it. I just love this book. My only complaint is I notice Ms Monroe's books are getting shorter and shorter but the prices remain the same. I'm just saying!!!
I almost did not purchase this book, based on a review. The person that wrote that review (to me) was wayyy off base! This is a great read! I love these characters! Keep them coming Ms Monroe!
I was happy about the ending about time... But Nikki in the family/business now that was a surprise but I can see it. Another great read and wondering who's next. Could it be one of the girls now maybe Reno daughter?
This novel wraps up the reasons behind Joey's betrayal and ultimate death. Teddy and Nikki work out their drama . Nikki shows her badassness in car crashes and shootouts.
So, I'm not going to give a long review. All I'm going to say is damn. This book was worth the wait and I can't wait to see how the Teddy Sinatra series continues to unfold. Omg, it's getting hot in here. Lol. It's so on.
Another well written, fast paced installment to the Sinatra saga. Lot's of twists and turns and action. And and Nicki and Teddy''s relationship is put to the test , love this couple, Nikki is a complete bad ass.
This is was a likeable story. I do like that MS. Monroe changed her style a bit. I always like Teddy or the Sinatra in general. There stories are most fun to read though very serious. Now I need to go back and read what Joey was actually up to.
Loved it!!!! Nikki is the bomb. Loved learning more about Mick's and Big Daddy's childhood. Teddy and Nikki are such a good match. Would have loved her better represented on the cover picture. "Curves for day's". You can't skip this book.
I, of course, enjoyed this installment of Teddy and Nikki's story. It came with so of the drama and history that Ms Monroe's book are known for. It's always good to see other family members making an appearance in each story.
Finally!!! It's about time Teddy and Nikki got it together! Joey even from the grave is still wrecking havoc with the family and I'm sure it's not over by a long shot!!! Unfortunately!!!
Another great added to my favorite series , lot’s of action and always full of non stop drama. Love their sense of family first can’t wait for the next book.
