rating the novel. got to 1730/2000+
4 stars till 1500, then 2 stars after

It was consistently good into the 1500s, which is very much appreciated. It is a tale of personal power growth, but the side characters actually stay relevant and keep pace with the mc, which is nice.

Characters: 3/5 liked
World: 2/5 okay
Story: 3/5 liked

I've just spent 80 hours reading up to chapter 1730, where I'm quitting.

Characters:
They are slightly more organic than the usual xianxia killing machines. The mc still only seeks out benefits, but at least he has morals. The side characters are what makes this story special, since the mc is often with the same side characters and they progress at the same rate as the mc.

World:
It wasn't anything special, since I've read lots of xianxia. It's the usual thing of continent with many kingdoms and races and gods and pocket worlds and all the rest.

Story:
It was engaging for the first 1500 chapters. Then a jarring thing happens where the mc which kills the story for me. Because the story up till that point was following the growth of 15 different characters, the fact that 14 of them act and feel different after chapter 1500 ruins much of my investment and enjoyment of the story. It's more like you're learning about different people. Everyone is insanely strong, one person is now an abusive girlfriend, another one acts insane, etc. In addition, 1500 marks a change in the writing style. Where before all battles were super concise 1 or 2 chapter affairs, now battles stretch into 10 chapters and beyond. That means that much less time is given to interactions between characters when not in combat, which also decreased my enjoyment of the story. From 1500 to 1730 I employed liberal chapter skipping, aided by the highly descriptive chapter titles (I love descriptive titles).
