Goodnight Farm is an adorable book that looks amazing from the outside as there are lots of cut-out sections on each page which when the book is closed creates different farmer’s fields and a farmhouse in the distance.

Inside author Becky Davies teaches children about the farm animals sleeping habits, starting with cows and how they only sleep for around four hours a day and can doze standing up.

The main text is written in bold, bright black text that stands out. It is quite a small font for a young children’s book but it is also easy to read. There are sections on each page with additional information. These are not so easy to read or noticeable, in fact, there was one page where I was about to turn over and I noticed I had missed some writing as it is more of a small grey font on a coloured background and when that background is green it kind of got lost.

The illustrations though are divine. I loved them. They are brightly coloured and the animals are drawn perfectly. There are so many different animals too, not just the ones being mentioned in the text, plus other items you would find on a farm such as a tractor or a scarecrow. So you could play spot the animal or teach little children about life on a farm.

I found the story completely lovely and with thick pages this is one book that a child cannot destroy easily, making it perfect for tiny children who just like to rip everything apart.

Baby loves this book, all the noises of the animals and the snoring sounds you make along with it! Mine has cut-outs so she enjoys poking her hands through the middle. The moon is also sparkly, and each page has small cut-outs for sneak peak small animals. Very cute.
Thick cardboard.

Goodnight Farm

By: Becky Davis & Carman Saldana

This books is absolutely beautiful beautiful.

Phoebe absolutely loves moo 🐮and this was a great hit. The book talks about how all farm animals go to sleep. The book is very creatively made, there are cut outs on each page as you turn creating a different look of how a farm looks like, plus Phoebe loved sticking her hand through the book on each page.

Definitely a keeper of a book.
