Samantha Gordon had it all. The perfect love and even the white picket fence to go along with it. Then one tragic night, it was all taken away. Plagued by nightmares that are all too real, she feels the world is falling down around her. As she sinks lower and lower into the abyss, who will pull her out when she thinks she deserves to drown?
Dylan Anderson lives a quiet life helping his dad with running his family’s hotel. When a mysterious blond shows up and interrupts his life, he wonders where she’s been this whole time.
But when her secrets begin to unravel, Dylan has to decide whether he will fight for her, or let her drift away.
This book features a swoony hero that would do anything for his heroine. HEA guaranteed. Lovable moments in midst of chaos reign supreme. It contains mature content and is intended for readers over 18.
This story contains some sensitive material that may be disturbing to some. Please be advised.
An avid lover of books. Kelly lives in Tennessee with her husband and their daughter. She loves to visit historical places like Williamsburg, VA, or The Great Smoky Mountains. She is also an avid sports fan. #GoBraves.
I honestly didn't know what to expect from Shattered by Kelly Seinfeld but I was definitely not disappointed. This is a wonderfully written story about inner strength that needs to be fought for. It handles such topics as severe PTSD, tragic loss, and questions of sanity. Underneath the drama there are strong family bonds, new friendships and the power of love. Samantha is a intense woman who is out for justice. Dylan is the man who gives Sam the support she fights against accepting. Can the love that is forming between the two help Samantha through the tragedy and drama of her past? Shattered, book 1 of the Healing Series really gives you all kinds of feels. I highly recommended this story of love and hope. kelly-seibold
My first book by Kelly Seibold but it won't be my last!
This was a very interesting read. The heroine has been dealt a harsh blow by life and she's slowly putting herself together. I really felt for her. The hero was gorgeous and I really liked him - sweet and strong at the same time and with a heart of gold. What more could you want in a hero? A wonderful read.
First, I must commend author, Kelly Seibold for creating the Healing Series. Ms. Seibold is not afraid to tackle issues that have for far too long been swept under the rug. Although these topics may trigger some, mental health is of the utmost important.
Raw and real, Shattered, book one in the series, focuses on a widowed police officer, Sam, who is battling with PTSD and suffers with debilitating anxiety attacks after the murder of her husband. Suspended from her job, Sam has vowed to get revenge on the criminals who murdered her husband. However, an encounter with a handsome hotel owner's son, Dylan, changes everything.
I'm looking forward to reading the next installment in The Healing Series. Mental health is no joke, but as Ms. Seibold proves in Shattered, love really does conquer all.
I couldn't put this book down and read it all in one afternoon. Brilliant story with a fantastic epilogue. I can't wait to read the next. I loved the slow burn of this and the strength and fragility of the lead character. That opening chapter was just amazing!
I loved the story! I loved the characters! However, the ending seemed to come rather abruptly and was somewhat of a let down. I was hoping to see her take down her husband's killer. I was also waiting for the hot and heavy love making. The lead up was good, but dry humping doesn't make for a good love scene. This isn't my first book by the author and enjoyed the other one, so this won't be my last by Kelly Siebold..
I liked the concept of the story. The author did a good job of setting the mystery in the beginning as well as the continuation of the series. The story has a sweet message, but I felt it was difficult to connect with the the characters and their situations. A little more fleshing-out with their backgrounds and personalities would go along way. As a matter of POV preference, I like clear boundaries on POVs. Head jumping can get really distracting for the reader. Overall, I liked the story, but it was the technical aspects of the writing that prevented me from really getting into it. Writing is tough, so keep up the hard work.
What a book, Kelly has a way of drawing me into her books. This one was no exception, it was raw, emotional and intense. Samantha was broken and Dylan was the one to put her back together. It was such a well written story that once I started I could not put it down.
Quick, easy read. The author does a great job at portraying a realistic, slow burn love story, while exploring deeper emotional issues like PTSD and grief. This is the first time I’ve read this author’s work and will continue.
I am not usually a fan of instant love stories but this one was very well done!
Kelly did a great job of making the passion and feelings believable for the situation. It didn’t feel fake or forced at all as I read through. I also really enjoyed how Dylan overstepped his bounds at times and forced Sam’s hand instead of letting her push him away. Then, in the next scene gave her the space she needed. This showed how strong his is as a man and how confident he was in their feelings even though he wasn’t able to admit it at the time.
I also loved the little twist at the end! I’ve already downloaded book two in the series and can’t wait to dive into it tonight.
Kelly does an awesome job at creating her characters, their journeys and her writing craft is well versed. I cant wait to read more, hard to put down her books
Overall I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice short read for me that was different from other books I have read recently. The only down side for me was there were a couple of places where there were missing words, but not enough that it made me put down the book.
Not at all what I was expecting but what a awesome surprise with this book. I loved Dylan from the start. And Samantha poor girl what struggles she has. Loved the way it all came together and how the end leads to “more”?1?1
Sam is dealing with many emotional issues following a traumatic event just over a year ago. Trying to write wrongs she feels she has done she finds herself staying at a hotel owned by Dylan and his father. Dylan feels drawn to Sam and wants to help her through everything she is going through.
After everything that has happened can Sam learn to love again without guilt? Can Dylan make Sam realise that they should be together?
I love how Kelly built the relationship between these two. At times I wanted to scream at Sam for the way she was trying to push Dylan away, but to his credit he never gave up on her. All in all it was a beautifully written story and loved how all the characters knew exactly what was going to happen between Sam and Dylan, except the couple themselves. The twist at the end makes me hope that we will hear the outcome in another book.
I couldn't put this book down and read it in one day and have already downloaded the next book. Thank you Kelly for a fantastic story.
Was my first book by this Author and they didn't disappoint. Plus to know this was book 1 in a series made me happy to know there would be more like it. Something tragic has happened to the female main character that brings her straight into the male main characters orbit. Sam and Dylan find themselves in some strange situations with each other. The storyline and characters are great and there's even a sort of slow burn with them too. I couldn't put this book down. The best part was the fact it wasn't a huge book so it being a page turner I didn't have to loose sleep reading it lol. I would recommend this book for sure. I can not wait to read more by this Author too.
This was my first book by Kelly Seibold, and I enjoyed this story well enough that I will continue with the series. I thought the author did an amazing job writing the PTSD scenes and commend her for tackling a sensitive subject with grace. I struggled with Dylan's instant attraction to Samantha, especially when she was so unapproachable with him. I also really didn't see why he felt such a need to protect her from the start. Their relationship seemed rushed, and the end of the book left questions. I'm hoping to get answers further into the series. Overall, good book worth the time spent reading it.
Another amazing book by an amazing author. Kelly did another amazing job in this book. I again fell in love right from the beginning. I will definitely have to read the whole series and so will all of you. Samantha’s story has a little bit of everything in it. Her story does touch on some topics that are near and dear to my heart, probably why I loved it so much. There is romance, crime, and the small town feel. Thank you Kelly for sharing this wonderful story with all of us.
Sam felt like she was broken and her life shattered with all of the struggles she has faced and is still facing. Dylan felt an instant attraction to her and he just may be the person to put her heart and life back together. This was a well written story that keeps you hanging on every word!
DNF. Couldn’t connect with the characters and the constant jumping between the storytelling made it difficult to follow the story. Felt like it jumped a lot and not very descriptive. Plus I didn’t like the fact he kept using his masters key to get in her room.
I like this series so far, having all the points of view was great. The way Dylan took care of Samantha was heart warming. However, I would have liked to have more romance in the story.
This is the first book in an amazing series. Kelly’s books are love stories but they are not all hearts and perfect people. Her stories deal with real life hardships that so many of us go through, so the characters are more relatable. This is Dylan and Samantha’s story.
