*BOOK 4 in the Crosby's Cove series* A new year has begun in Crosby’s Cove. It’s early Spring, and the small, seaside town is coming back to life after a long winter. Annie feels lucky to be in such a good place in life, something that she never would have thought was possible a year ago. Of course, just as things couldn’t be better something major comes up that could change her life significantly. She’s not sure what she should do, but the clock is ticking, and an answer is needed. With the birth of her first grandchild happening any day now, Marie’s anxiety is running high. The added stress of son Ethan wanting to drop out of college as well as his fiancé living with her hasn’t exactly helped. Between running her own business and dealing with her chaotic home life she’s exhausted, but knows that things will get better after the baby is born and once she has some full time help at the shop. However, things don’t always go as planned. Jackie is determined to make this year her best ever on a personal level. She’s spent so much time focusing on running the Beachmere Inn that she lost sight of who she was. But taking time away from the Inn isn’t as easy as she thought it would be, and when someone from her past shows up, she’s not so sure that she's made the right decision. Take a break from the real world and escape to Crosby's Cove!
Catherine Jones grew up in New England and spent endless amounts of time visiting Maine with her parents. Her family loved the small seaside town of Ogunquit, and often vacationed there.
Catherine fell in love with Ogunquit as well, which was her inspiration to write her first series, Crosby's Cove.
If you enjoy small town, wholesome women's fiction then you will love Catherine's books.
These stories emphasize friendship and family life.
Book 5 was a short, quick read and it was nice catching up with Annie and the gang. I was happy to learn this is not the last time we will visit Crosby’s Cove.
This has been one of the best series that I’ve read. It rivals Rachel Hanna and Pam Kelly’s, if not better as I find this series more relatable. I am fully invested in these characters, as well as the town of Crosby’s Cove. I want to live there. The author’s ability to give you the visualization of each setting is wonderful. As an older woman I can relate to these people so much! Please write another book in this series! I am REALLY looking forward to Grasshopper Lane!!
To say I was disappointed with the end is an understatement. The story was interesting but while the author tied up loose ends of subplot there was no conclusion for the primary plot. I'm happy for Maggie, Ethan and Emily returned with Chase. Jackie got the situation resolved with the review and Annie and Matt are left flapping in the wind. The author's note about writing more books in the series does not underscore that her manor plot is unresolved.
This is a great series that I need more of. The story lines are all interesting and realistic, and somehow the author has the ability to make each book a positive, uplifting read even though each character goes through a difficult challenge.
These books truly allow you to escape to a different world while you read them.
I look forward to reading more from Catherine Jones!
I really enjoyed this contemporary romance. This story grabs your attention right away and before you know it your transported to Crosby Cover charming town were the characters are very likable, witty, and supportive.
