Never gets old. I've enjoyed the same as I enjoyed the first time.

The first book of these series has a better collection. Maybe it's because of the different timelines. This book features most of the stories written during WWII. Some are really heart wrenching. Specially the short story of Grigory Baklanov can really pierce your soul. Most of stories are really really short and easy read.

Every time I touch this book, it brings back memories, fond ones and bitter ones. It is one of those books that's added to family treasures.

As good as the first volume. Had some really good Soviet Russian short stories. Didn't like all of them, but that's the beauty about these stories I guess. You can always find something you can roll with. These characters feel so alive and their stories are heartbreaking most of the time. Eagerly reading the 3rd volume.
