Rate this book
A terrible business idea. Two clashing personalities struggling to make it work. A blossoming attraction.

Taylor Samson has one goal in life: to give her daughter a better future. That’s why she left the comforts of her hometown for the big city. That’s why she works like a zombie. And that’s why she gathers strength and pitches her big business idea to Christina, a gorgeous, calculating investor. Her dreams are trampled underfoot when the heartless business lady coldly rejects her proposal.

Christina Hilford has one goal in life: to be successful in her career. Families and changing diapers are the last things on her mind. So when she meets Taylor, an obvious amateur in the business world, she can’t help but roll her eyes. It doesn’t matter that she’s stunning.

Despite their immediate disdain for each other, Christina and Taylor soon find themselves thrown into the task of making Taylor’s disaster of a business plan work. Slowly, their preconceptions of each other start to give way. Taylor can’t seem to resist the moments when Christina lets down her guard. And Christina is starting to wonder if this little family can give her the home she’s never had.

Can they shed their prejudices and admit their growing connection to one another? Or are their lives meant to intersect briefly before they must eventually part ways?

Great read!

A great opposites attract romance about a rich girl from a big city and a farm girl from a small town. Both women have left everything behind to start over in a new city. A business proposal causes a lot of frustrations but also has a lot of advances. The story is well put together, the characters are likable and the pace is a little bit slow but as the story progressed, it became better. Overall I really enjoyed it.

This was an okay read. I bought this book because I liked the blurb and the story that was outlined there. The story itself was nice but I think the writing would benefit from better editing and should be tighter. Because of the expansive writing the beginning of this story dragged. I don’t think readers need to be told again and again how Christine’s family life was when she was young and how that impacted her life or how Taylor longs for a partner and family for instance. You’re told about that several times at the beginning of the book but it comes back later on again. It’s as if the writer was stuck in the book but gets the story going again this way. That made the writing too repetitive. Where sometimes too many words were used about the same thing, at other times the jumps in the narrative were a little too abrupt or big and could have used a bit more text. What bothered me also is that Christine is supposed to be a professional working for a big company, but the description of Christine’s work and her company and what happens there is simplistic and doesn’t fit with the image of such professionals or venture companies. Take Michele, the VP of the company, she really comes over very amateurish.
There were other parts though of the book that I enjoyed. The main characters were very nice and I liked how they communicated when it became clear to them that they were attracted to each other. I also liked Chloe and Taylor’s parents seemed great. Though I think that a little bit more attention to them would have added to the depth of the book and made it more attractive.
So 2.8 stars which rounds up to 3 for Goodreads.

This was a good story. Taylor is down on her luck and trying to start a new life for her and her daughter. Christina is a high powered business woman. When Taylor brings a business proposal to Christina, Christina is not impressed. She is blunt and direct. When things eventually come to a place where the two women work together, they eventually warm up to each other and develop a slow friendship and relationship. I liked the pacing of this story. The ladies were opposites, and it was nice seeing them take their time with everything to make sure it would be good. I liked the character and the over all story. Very enjoyable.

several reasons i liked this story' no'1 the lack of angst no'2 this author let the two mains hold hands and cuddle without it leading to sex, the whole dynamic was a sweet getting to know you story, even at the beginning when they couldn't syand each other it wasn't filled with angst and to be honest there wasn't much enemy's to lover's cristina's although led by michelle the boss, newrealy early that taylor was the one, one thing i did think was going to happen was the kid chloe would actualy bring them together by asking questins of both of them but she did the next best thing and took cristina into her heart, i have one ercsome coment about the end i know alexa was rapping everything up but there realy was a lot there that could have used another chapter or two, on the whole a great read,
and a sweet story of two single women coming together, i loved the scene at the back of the cow shed
sweet romantic watching the univerce go by while smooching i did shed a tear.

Cute and Exciting Read!

I loved this story. Taylor was trying to change her life for the better. Having Chloe at a young age and realizing her sexuality, she knew they needed a change. After losing three jobs, Taylor has a great idea for a business and tries to meet with a company who can help invest but when she meets Christina sparks fly but her dreams were passed on. Before she could dwell too much on it, Christina contacts her and they will approve her business but with Christina working with her. After Taylor presses Christine about the change of heart, she finds out the company is pushing her plans through because of a scandal that can bring the company down. As this story unravels, it leads to two people who have a connection and want to explore it but slowly. This winds up being a very sweet and comforting story with a great happy ever after ending.

Our heroines come at things from completely different directions and this causes the expected clash. What follows is completely unexpected.

This is a romance of the F/F sort. The story is well written and easy to read with a coup[le of very solid and believable characters that bring this story to life. The relationship develops slowly throughout the story in ways that neither character was expecting. There are certainly some bumps along the road, the biggest being overcoming their own preconceived notions, but the result is well worth the effort. Along the way we get a bit of steam and a very nice HEA. Overall, a highly enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Highly recommended.

Great story

The story started a bit slow, but worth the wait. Taylor and Christina are the main characters. Christina comes from a wealthy family, works for a venture capital firm and meets Taylor who submitted a business proposal. Taylor grew up on a farm, no college education, and their lives couldn’t be further apart. Initially Christina rejects the proposal. Through a unique change in circumstances, Christina helps rewrite the proposal with a team from the company she works at and is assigned to head Taylor’s project. That’s when the sparks fly.

Dang! I mean, there are some great moments in F/F romance books where the two mains finally give in to their passion, but this book took that first...second ... third.... fourth meeting to a whole other realm! The scene are written so well- phew! Is it hot in here? I love these ladies. I loved how communicative they are. I loved the farm and the city and their passion for exploring their dreams. A quick read, well-written, awesome plot- loved all the moments from that first chapter straight through to the epilogue.

Sweet Story

I really enjoyed this story! Both Christina and Taylor have big hearts and both deserve to find their HEA . One of the things I really liked is the way the author handled the intimate scenes. Just the right amount of descriptive sex. Great job!

Christina and Taylor are the lead characters in this romance with a bit of humor and some scorching bedroom heat. Both women are trying to make new lives for themselves in Austin. One from farm country and the other from fast paced N.Y. Single mom Taylor meets Christina when she applies for funding at the Venture Capitalist firm where Christina works. Bumpy incidents aside Taylor's idea of a Pet Therapy business starts to become a reality and there's bonding between Christina and Chloe (Taylor's 6 yr old daughter) due to chicken-pox and arts and crafts. A visit to the farm, starry skies and peaceful nature plus an enormous workload at work leads Christina to question her career goals. Can these two women have a HEA coming from such different backgrounds? I had to find out and read from beginning to end without stopping.
