This sweet Amish romance will inspire everyone to take a chance on love. Gott has a plan.
This is a story of an Amish man, Lucas, who has a dream to become a doctor. He leaves his Amish roots behind but they lead him back to the community he loves. He meets, Sage, a woman left to care for the rest of her siblings after her parents' death. A set of circumstances bring the two together, but will the non-Amish factor come into play?
The story is inspirational, uplifting, and steeped in Amish tradition and values. I really enjoyed the characters that were well-developed and the setting of Amish life very real. This is the first Amish title I've read from this author and will definitely be reading more.
Lucas knew he wanted to be a doctor and yet he was born Amish. He left the community to become the doctor he wanted to be. He always knew God was directing him to come home but until he met Sarah he wasn't listening. She showed him what the community meant to her and he decided it was time for him to return. He desired the life and her and the family he had grown to love. A great book.
Please, please continue their story! This was a wonderful story of an Amish girl struggling to take care of her siblings after the death of both parents. One sibling falls dangerously ill and is hospitalized. The doctor involved becomes involved with the family but problems arise because he is "English". Good ending but I want no need more!!!
I call these my "fluff" reads. Everything works out at the end with rainbows and halos. No bumps to overcome. One underlying truth I did find in this One is sometimes God answers our prayers. We just don't see the answer. It's okay to ask for a "reminder".
There are open ends almost from the beginning. There is a horse and buggy still at the doctor's office. Time is not determined. Also, why the bishop never appeared to help or check on the family? I supposed there will be more books. I like the story but please proof read.
This book wasn’t what I expected. A family losing both parents then one of the children getting deathly ill, gave me chills. The story takes many turns by showing compassion from the English population. I couldn’t put this down and hated when it ended!
The day Sage took Danny to see Lucas, it brought him back to his roots. He realized he misses the Amish way, plus they have fallen in love. This is a very heart warming .
This was a very well written and thoroughly enjoyable story to read. It was full of faith, love and beautiful relationships. Naomi Troyer never disappoints! I would definitely recommend it!
A good story about the Amish values and how their guidelines prohibit marrying outside their faith. In the end, love wins out and everything works out.
