The Amazing Life Of A Fat Bird: A Slice Of Turkey

Rate this book
Born and raised in Yorkshire, the daughter of a miner, Tina met her soon-to-be husband whilst on holiday in Turkey. Following the issuing of a Visa, a marriage in the UK and the birth of two boys, Tina took the decision to move with her family to a city on the coast in Turkey when she was in her late thirties. The plan was to rent and run a holiday hotel. A better life, a great place to bring children up, great shopping if you like fakes, warm weather and a better quality of life. The move didn’t work out quite as planned, and Tina’s life for the next ten years moved from struggles to success, from knitting to death threats, from, Alanya to Syria. It involved The Mafia, Gamblers and Mistakes. Stories about living in a country that she loves, and looking for every possible way to stay there, this book includes anecdotes, adventures and stories of life in a foreign land. Some are laugh-out-loud funny, and some are so very sad. She has seen things, been to places and been involved with things that most women would never see or do. And this sometimes chaotic life was, and still is, an Amazing One….

It started off really good, but to be honest I got a bit bored half way through, hence the length of time it took me to finish reading it.
