Cognitive Contact Linguistics: Placing Usage, Meaning and Mind at the Core of Contact-Induced Variation and Change
This volume serves to illustrate the promising insights to be gained when cross-fertilizing Cognitive Linguistics and contact linguistics, which each hold crucial ingredients to an encompassing study of contact-induced variation and change.
Combining the study of the individual mind with the study of shared context, bridging research on experience and perspective with research on variation and change, and tackling the methodological complexities that this empirical approach to mental categorization entails, help us determine how the meaningful units that make up language are categorized and structured in the bi- and multilingual mind and, by extension, in any human mind.
Together, the ten papers in this volume reveal the complexities of the interaction between usage, meaning and mind in contact-induced variation and change, which we hope will inspire future research exploring the possibilities of the cross-fertilization we have labeled Cognitive Contact Linguistics.

POOR ELINE
On 26-11-23 there was an article on Neerlandistiek.nl about the “verenglishing” of Dutch in Flanders entitled “Waarom Vlaanderen? De volkstaal in evolutie” (“Why Flanders? The vernacular in evolution”). Eline Zenner, like Ann Marynissen and Freek Van de Velde, is a 'professor' in linguistics and they now know better than anyone that linguists have never understood the sound shift system in all their publications written before 2013. Nowhere is it mentioned that words lengthen from the back and wear off from the front, as in the Dutch WRAAK, which in German helixes in (w)RACHE, in English in REVENGE and in French in VENGEANCE. The fourth row of W, never mentioned by linguists, has proven that not only English and German, but also French, helixes from Flemish. Eline Zenner writes that “Latin in Europe was the lingua franca in the church and science” without realizing that from the PLAT (vernacular) the (p)LATIN helixes from which the local language (Pas de Calais and West Flanders) emerged. VLAAMS has developed, as evidenced by the four rows P, T, K and W. From PLAT helixes, in addition to VLAKT > VOLKT > VOLKSTAAL, also the (p)LAT > LAIT / LATTE which refers to CREAM (melk > milk > Milch). It is therefore a misconception to call the Italian city of ROMA as the cradle of Christianity, because it is located in Northern France. This ROOM helixes from KRAAM (> CREAM) > KROOM > KROM (BENT), a reference to astrophysics, but also to Crooked language use that linguists called TAALVERLOEDERING (LANGUAGE DEGRADATION). The FRANK in lingua franca refers to VRIJ > VRIJMOEDIG > MOEDIG (FREE > BOLD > COURAGEOUS), which is related to the MOED (COURAGE) in TALMUD (jewish’ book), but that is related to the MAT that helixes in MIJTER (head of a bishof), which MA-the-MA-tically refers to the double pentagon alias a ten-sided figure, because language in the brain (micro) functions in the same way as the universe (macro). The prehistoric midwives, the WHITE WOMEN FROM THE LOST MILLENNIUM, already knew this, because they left us historical coins on which this knowledge has been passed down in images. The fact that English is now becoming the new lingua franca seems to be related to globalization. But this is also a misconception. GLOBE refers to WERELD > WORLD alias LE MONDE which also contains the MAT > MOND > MONDE, a reference to the VOLKSMOND (slang) alias the DIALECT. Language is a > TOOL, an instrument, which helixes out of (E) TOILE which refers to TWAAL > DWAAL > DWAALTAAL (i.c. WRONG) which helixes in TIERT WELIG, which via STIER (>TAURUS) > STUUR (HANDLEBAR) refers to a STURING, a moving system over which people have no influence, because via the SPEEKSEL (SALIVA) and therefore via the water balance in the human body takes place in a way due to the influence of celestial bodies on earth. NOMEN EST OMEN affects not only proper names, country names or place names, but even street names with their familynames! The conclusion is therefore that there is determinism. That means predestination. After the Tower of Babel, dialects began to change to such an extent that people no longer did understand each other. But now people are moving through the KLANKHELIX (Lauthelix, soundhelix) to a form of MONILINGUALITY whereby communication between people no longer causes interference, which facilitates communication worldwide. This is also necessary given the problems that people face. Eline Zenner would do better to proclaim this version instead of the fairy tales she spreads around even though she knows better.
