Christian Settipani, docteur en Histoire, est spécialiste de la continuité des familles du Haut Moyen Âge et de l’Antiquité et a publié de nombreux autres travaux sur ces questions.
I hope that Dr. Settipani in his new projects will find time to publish the remaining half of this book. As I recall (anecdotally) he had some extraordinarily illuminating and insightful comments on the part of the structure of familial associations of Gallo-Roman elites from the 4th to 8th centuries CE which are not in any of his other extraordinarily comprehensive books or, frankly, anywhere else. And while the connections are of considerable importance to aiding our better understanding of that era, his reasoning for why the connections may be considered and the implications of such connections is one of a kind.
