"Who am I? I am Spider-Man."

Well, not really, but this should tell you all you need to know about me and my writing style.

I'm a huge Marvel (plus Game of Thrones, Star Trek AND Star Wars) fan, which shows since my novel is loaded with pop culture references. If you are a sci-fi fan (I assume that you are, otherwise what are you doing here?) you will enjoy them tremendously. I even went full Deadpool in my first draft and broke the fourth wall multiple times, until my editor told it was distracting and kept taking her out of the moment. Shame. Those fourth-wall breaks were hilarious. Still, I can guarantee a few laugh-out-loud moments. Case in point: The "good" aliens in my novel are a race of pranksters, whose main goal in life is pulling other people's legs (They have four legs, hence the slight change in the idiom). My favorite author is Jim Butcher (The Dresden Files), which is probably how I ended up writing in a first-person POV with the same light-hearted, funny tone as he does. The fact that my MC's name is Jim is purely coincidental though.

I am a university/college level English teacher, and including Canada, I have lived and worked in five different countries. I have met people from all around the world. Plus, my parents are from a different background, and so is my wife. As a result, diversity has become a major theme in my novel. My characters look like the bridge crew from Star Trek. One of my female characters even impersonated Uhura once, albeit posthumously.

A great addition to the series

Having read all the books in this series, I once again found myself transported to anther time, another place, as the galaxy once again is under threat of annihilation. All the familiar characters appear one again, feeling like old friends now.
When a time travelling 'guardian' suddenly appears offering Jim Harrison, the King slayer, the chance to change recent history, it sets in action a train of events that leads to terrific battle scenes as the humans, Akakies and Xortaags join forces in an attempt to prevent the ultimate destruction of life as we know it by a renegade AI, (Artificial intelligence) known as Mother. Initially a benign entity zip Mother is transformed into the ultimate weapon and seeks to impose total domination over every living being in the galaxy.
Like the previous books in the series, The Silver Timeship is an exciting, action - packed science fiction romp that is quite breathtaking in parts, and I found myself becoming totally absorbed by the book. I can recommend it to lovers of science fiction action stories and it's definitely a 5 star read for me.

There is always a moment in this book series where I laugh out loud, and this book was no exception. Another adventure with the gang, with some time travel thrown in. Poor Jim has been through the ringer and is in a pretty depressed place. I think my favorite part of the book was the solution to help Jim get out of his depressed funk and the unintended consequences of the solution. It was nice to visit with these characters again and the author has indicated that there will be another story with these guys, I can’t wait to see what they get themselves into next!

Jim, the Kingslayer, is devastated by the deaths of his wife and son, and the loss of so many friends. His vigil besides Tarq, the Akakie leader ends with what looks like the insectoid’s death. Then he reappears coming through the door and smoking a pipe. Jim goes ballistic and knocks him out and Jim’s mood spirals downward. Gerneral Maada and another try to bring him out of it as the General is certain they will be attacked again. Unfortunately, General Maada’s instincts are correct. Their last battle has created a force that brings the destruction of the universe. Now they must travel back in time to set things right. They wind up on a planet preparing the ship with a million drones and run by an AI named Mother. Instead of stopping the AI immediately something goes wrong and the AI becomes more powerful and unleashes the huge space vehicle containing the million drones after it renames itself Father. Will Jim, Kurt, General Maada and Tarq be able to survive this onslaught or will the Kingslayer and General Maada beat time itself? Hold onto your seat. It is a wild ride into the future.

This is the 4th book I've read in the Crimson Deathbringer series and the best. The author has written another tongue-in-cheek extravaganza with not so many pop culture references as the first three. Still, to any fan of Star Trek, Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars, Men in Black, and many more (including Shakespeare!), there are little gems hidden in almost every conversation. Lots of wise cracking and off the wall humor as well as genuine suspense, pathos, and lots of action. Lots and lots of action! The book ends on a cliff hanger as before with promises of further sequels. You must read The Golden Viper first to get a handle on the autobiographical style and swashbuckling, arrogant, but oh so human protagonist. There is opportunity here for a very large spoiler but I won't go there.

Predictable?

Yes and no. The way to really find out is to read it.
I'm an older guy that loves to read. I tend to hit the hay earlier I used to. So when I stay up late there has to be a good reason. This book is the reason.

After saving the universe, a time agent from the future delivers bad news, in that they have doomed the universe to another enemy. Jim and the team go to work to correct the future, but are they the cause of the new problem and should they stay away.

I love time travel stories, and the rules that they need to follow or how far you can go before you break them. I hope the time traveler got her wish, but I don't remember if she did.

Just when you think you're done in this universe, you're gonna find that Sean Robins isn't. Jim and his bunch of freedom fighters are once again called upon to save the world in this fantastic romp through both time and space! Everything is at stake! And not only do they have to time jump, but they have to absolutely crush something (no matter their own morality) before it gets started or else their own timeline will end! And when I say that, I mean everything will end!

So if grab the audiocopy and discover why C.J. is absolutely perfect for this nuanced action-driven book!
