If you have not read Forbidden Alien's Mate, in boxset Captured and Captivated, then please read that book first, before reading this book.
A stubborn Warrior Zyaire Ketmer has been thrown into a dangerous war, where someone has their sights on the Thulrillon thrown, and he’s just been volunteered to find out who. As a newly appointed imperial warrior in the army, his mission is clear. So why can’t he get his head into the game? As life, limb, family, and planet hang in the balance Zyaire will face his most challenging battle yet.
A fierce human mate Rayne Colburn has almost lost everything. From slave to survivor, she doesn’t take no for an answer. When the tables turn, and she gets the chance to save the alien that saved her, she doesn’t hesitate. Who would’ve thought saving his life meant there wouldn’t be a place for her in his heart? His purple hide has another lesson in earth females if he thinks she will go quietly into the friend zone after all they have shared.

Why are there so many "writers" who are so ignorant of how the English language works? 😕
I'm pretty sure this is all thanks to the advent of self-pub and the fact too many people don't think it's important to pay a REAL editor to make things readable. Honestly, when the word choice and flip-flopping verb tenses are so bad that a reader feels the need to pause in the middle of a sex scene to write a bitchy note about the wrong homonym or bouncing verb tenses, you've really failed the basics as a writer, right? 😒
I want to love this but I am confused. Concepts of time seem weird. I feel like it is weeks then it mentions just days. It starts like in the middle of a story it feels and she feels like a different person then when she stows away and joins him. For people that have certain gifts they are really bad at using them. The constant changes seem like it is written by multiple people then pieced together. It just is not smooth. And I feel like stuff is missing. I have been trying to read it and I keep having to reread stuff to try to make sense of things. And I keep putting it down because I am frustrated. Sometimes it feels like it might have been written in a different language and poorly translated like some webtoons I read. There was a point where the girl goes up to the guy that was lost but not and it does not make sense ... I think his name might have been used instead of her name a few times. I love the cover... purple guy with long hair.
Imperial warrior Zyaire Ketmer needs to find out who is trying to take the Thulrillon throne. His life, limb, family, and planet hang in the balance but he is yet to meet the most challenging battle. Human Rayne Colburn has almost lost everything and so she does not take no for an answer. When tables turn and she can save the alien who saves her she doesn't hesitate. But there is no way she will accept the friend zone now.
I enjoyed this story although I did find it a little confusing in places. I did like the ending and it was nice to understand a bit more about family life on his home planet. Easy to read if a little hard to understand. Contains mature content.
Great story. Love the storyline and just had to finish the book. Zyaire is a newly appointed imperial warrior who's been volunteered to find out who's after the Thulrillon thrown. Rayne has gone from slave to survivor and she stubborn and fierce and she's going to save the alien who saved her. Will they ever be anything but a friend? This was an exciting and intriguing adventure. I can't wait wait until the next book come out. This is the first book I've read from this author. This story is included in the In Love With an Alien anthology. I started it and was immediately confused. It felt like it started in the middle of a story. I looked it up on Amazon and the blurb said to read the Forbidden Alien's Mate, included in the Captured and Captivated anthology, first. Unfortunately, that anthology is no longer available so I gave up.
The book is dizzying, shifts perspectives sometimes without telling who is speaking. It took me a while to figure out how to follow the shifts. The second half of the book was more enjoyable for me.
