Outstanding read from back in 1948 and 1949 on Sanibel and Captiva!

If you ever vacation on Captiva/Sanibel Islands, Fl., you should be sure to add this to your reading list. It is a marvelous story about a young man's adventures on Captiva/Sanibel Islands during the late 1940's. A coming of age story. I read it every time we visit the Island. Jerry is an ailing young man who comes to live with his aunt on Sanibel Island. He discovers a whole new world full of interesting characters, amazing wildlife, and lifelong friends.
