Oh. Maybe it is suggestive of Zen? Don’t label the world, experience it?
I first learned about Korzybski and General Semantics from van Vogt’s World of Null-A. That was a trippy ride, a fun adventure, but I had no clue that Null-A was a thing outside van Vogt’s careening dreamlike imagination.
Then I thought it was a serious technical bit of philosophy or linguistics.
Then I thought it was some weird pseudo-science.
Now I think maybe it is one of the myriad ways of approaching the freedom to see things as they are (oops. No “to be”, right?) …. experience things directly (?) without labeling, without getting caught up in one’s thoughts, mistaking one’s perceptions for things themselves?
