This cookbook is a terrific resource for those who are considering or have had gastric sleeve surgery. The surgery needs to be accompanied by a change in eating habits, new recipes, new life style. I worked as a registered nurse in the past and recognize how vital it is to have nutritional resources to guide the reconfiguration of eating habits. This cookbook is a plus because it is simple. one -pot meals, even some no cook recipes. I have tried the peanut butter bites and the mango salsa recipe and both were very tasty.
The detailed explanation of dietary needs for fluids. Fiber and protein were clear and helpful. I appreciated the section dealing with restaurant dining. I recently stayed with a friend who has successfully changed her eating since she had gastric sleeve surgery. Cookbooks like this are her daily references for eating.
The book is colorful and includes storage tips as well as cooking tips. The per serving descriptions of protein, calories, fat, fiber and carbohydrates are a welcome addition. I would recommend this book for even those who have not undergone the surgery but desire to reduce carbohydrates and eat healthy.
