The hype around this book has been unquestionable and, admittedly, that made me both eager to get my hands on it and very expected of the vibe it will give. I mean, what if I was to be the one person that didn’t love it as much as others? Well, I wasn't disappointed.
An extremely beautiful and well crafted story of six different minds mysteriously trapped in a study, the journey started off with a 'Friday party feeling' but the party was 'indeed over soon'.
The Prom Trials is an important portrayal of how our values, mentality, reasoning and unity can influence our daily lives including that of people close to us either negatively or positively.
The author did a great job with characterization and character development, leaving me in awe of the similitude between them and myself. I guess that justifies the reason behind the book's dedication; 'to you all that might be like these characters'.
I'll not forget Dalu, Chidinma's twin brother and my favorite of all. Thanks to him, I laughed throughout my read. Few pages into the book, I was so sure he was the most annoying and dumbest of all but that changed. Dalu is a reminder of how something positive might be hidden in the most negative humans if they get the chance to prove otherwise. Although his constant negativity and suspicion lowered the belief his friends had in his judgment, he didn't waver.
All in all, the characters beautifully portrayed the war between good and evil, the importance of diversity and how the power of unity can never be overrated in this world that's not ours.
The ride through the book was lovely, I recall gripping my phone tight especially whenever they got new letters, cussing my bad network and laughing sadness out all through. Everyone who deserves a very good unending laughter should read this book.

Pheew!
That was quite a ride.
Each chapter of The Prom Trials practically got me on my toes, anticipating the next and hoping to discover who staged the whole thing.
The author did a wonderful job making everyone of them a possible suspect. I went from Chidinma, to Dapo, to Dalu, to Debbie... John and Musa, because what-- each one of them had a tangible motive why they would have done it. Only for us to discover who it was. Haq. Shocking and surprising.
The cliffhangers, yee! The humour...pliks, Dada David delivers. The storyline... Like, who would believe we just had few characters and a room to be locked in, yet the story explored depths?
The main theme, Teamwork, is underrated, but through this book, the writer showed us that there could be much more to it.
Y'all should read this, or I'll blow powder. I don't think there would be a need for it shaa😂 Enjoy💫

Amazing book filled with suspense, revelations, emotions flying here and there and many more. I recommend "The Prom Trials" if you want to learn sassiness and comebacks that hit hard😂
