This awesome series is action-packed and full of paranormal mystery. Well written this is filled with witches, shape-shifting familiars, demons, angels and just about everything in between. Its fun, fast-paced with mysterious complex plots, relatable characters, and a world that will just grab you tight and not let you go, not that you will want to leave!

Familiar Territory #1 - Intense. Intriguing. Interesting. Fast paced. This well written story was hard to put down once started. The story line was rather interesting and a bit different from the usual paranormal mysteries. The characters were developed enough to understand them and their motives. I really like Posh and Mabel. Most of the characters are likable and all of their dialogues were realistic. The Web made for an interesting character, too. The Cheever humor is in evidence throughout the story. I'm looking forward to reading more by this interesting author. There's an overview, which I appreciate knowing what the story is about before I read it. I contacted the author to review her books and she graciously gave me FT. 5*

A Familiar Problem #2 - Trudy's castle is way too cool; I want one, too! Ms. Cheever's vivid descriptions of people, places and things places you there in all the happenings, and she uses a casual, laid back style of "talking", like you're settin around gossiping. I love the character development of Trudy, so funny but so scary. My favorite character was Celeste; she was tough in more than one way - oops, translation: awesome.

This story warms up then hits the door running; fast paced and action packed, the story twists and turns until the last page. The emotions run the gamut from happy to sad to terrified amongst others. If you like Butcher, you'll love Cheever. I found this book on Booksprout, yeah! 5*

LeeAnn (LA to her friends) discovers that the barriers between the human and paranormal worlds are being threatened. It is up to her and her friends to go into the realm of the Underworld on a secret mission by the Queen to find out who is behind the breach so they can be stopped. Rumor has it that her banished aunt is trying to create a multi-dimensional domination. Now LA and her friends find themselves fighting against the clock, never knowing who to trust.

This is the second book in the Reluctant Familiar Mystery series but can easily be read as a stand-alone. The author has created a wonderful mix of characters including familiars, witches, demons, nymphs, and so many more. While they are usually sworn enemies they all seem to come together for the common good knowing that each paranormal world needs to remain under its current order. My favorite character is LA the familiar (shifts into a cat) who is trusting, honest, strong, and doesn’t believe in failure.

The book has just the right amount of mystery, paranormal suspense, and even humor to entertain its reader.

I was anxiously awaiting this second installment in this Familiar series and I wasn't disappointed. Another well written story starring L.A. and Deg that takes you on an edge of your seat adventure giving you a little bit of everything: drama, mystery, romance with a large dose of humor which makes it that much better. No spoilers, but know that if you love some paranormal (this one is a little different) with twists and turns, and fast paced, burn up your Kindle from swiping the pages type stories, this is the one for you! Some scary parts are present, and you'll see they are totally necessary for the story to make sense, but you can get past it because it doesn't taint you from moving on and finishing a COMPLETELY enjoyable book. Also, while your at it, go back and get the first one, Familiar Territory, if you haven't read that one! Reading both will only hook you even more on this fabulous author. I am now anxiously awaiting the next installment.

A Familiar Problem by Sam Cheever

Not my usual Sam Cheever read, but thoroughly entertaining. This is the second book in the Reluctant Familiar Paranormal Mystery series and makes some references to the earlier book. However, there is more than enough story-line to keep you from losing track of what is happening and why.

As expected by fans of Ms Cheever’s literary works, the book is excellently written with detailed characters and backgrounds. The magic content is believable due to the relationships and interplay between the characters and the world in which they live in.

Completely submerge yourself in this book and you’ll love getting lost amongst the word play.
Another ‘just wonderful’ book by Sam Cheever!

Interesting take on Paranormal Mystery

This is the second book in this series, and is as good as the first. I love the characters, LeeAnn (LA) is great as she is obviously so much more powerful than she realises, and is also brave despite her fears, and the other characters are all well drawn, although her Witch, Deg, is still something of a mystery, apart from his physical attributes I didn't think that we really get to know him as well as LA.
The plot is certainly fast and quite complex, with loyalties apparently changing and LA never really being sure who she can trust. The other 'realm' is very well described and extremely spooky.
Although this book could be read as a stand-alone, I really think that it is a lot easier to get in to if it is read after the first book.

Wow. Racing along with them throughout the story. Had to get to the end so I could rest too. Action from the first page to the end. Amazing. No time to figure out who the 'bad guy' was.

This book stands alone very well. It can be read by itself.

This is my first in this series and thought the the book was the first also. However , I realized it could not be since the characters are really well developed and get along really well. that said I now have to go find the first book so I can understand how this familiar thing works in this paranormal / witch world. I also want more information on the characters.

This is my honest and freely given review. i received and ARC book.

This is a fun, fast moving read of witches familiars, demons, even a Nephilim from heaven's dimension.  It's full of intrigue, suspense, a traitor or two and more.

LeeAnn and her friends, two witches and demon, are sent on a secret mission to check out the underworld and find out who is trying to breach the magical boundaries between the dimensions.  They find LA's banished aunt appearing to lead a rebellion against all the dimension -- or is she.

Allies seem to turn into enemies, and then back into allies again.  Who and what can LA and her friends trust, will they find the information they need?   Will they even make it home alive?

I'm giving five stars to this "cozy" paranormal mystery.   I thought it well written and left me wanting to know what happens to the four friends in the future.

Wonderful Cozy Paranormal Mystery
This is the second of a two book series. While it does stand alone okay, it would be better if you read the first book before the second. This second book leads into a third book without any sort of cliff hanger. This magic filled story has a multilayered plot that is very well executed. The characters are deep and well thought out. There are many twists in the story amid certain palace intrigue that it makes the story totally unpredictable. As with all of this author's work, it is high quality work with a dash of humor. I received this ARC book for free and this is my honest opinion.

WOW! Another one. I do so ENJOY this author. No matter what she writes the different genres all have something different to offer. I know I have said it before but there are times I would love to figure out how her mind works and the are times it scares me witless.

Sheesh! I can be a such a wimp sometimes. This book made me feel like that. I started it and couldn't put it down until I finished it. I'm not sure if this is paranormal fantasy but I really don't care. I can hardly wait until the next one comes. Thank you Ms. Sam Cheevers it will be a bit before I get a GOOD sleep again.

First off I must say I love the cover I downloaded it just because of that. This paranormal mystery was a joy to read great characters in a well-written story that will make you laugh and rut for the good guys. I love cozies and this one has a bit of magic (tongue in cheek) and this is a wonderful one to read. Now please do not misunderstand this book is not all fun and games there are sad parts too, but that is just what life is bad with the good. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

I got this an ARC copy of this book for free and that's why I volunteered to read and review it.

Surprisingly, I fell in love with the spunky, resourceful, smart quartet that stars in this book. From new uncharted dimensions to witches, from emotions to drama, this book has it all.

Since I don't want to add spoilers, I'm going to stop writing now, but thank you Sam Cheevar for a very interesting & gripping read. I hope I get a chance to read more about LA and her friends.

An escape into a magical world.

LA (LeeAnn) doesn’t know who to trust. The blurb says: “Loyalties change in the blink of an eye” and yes, it’s hard to keep up! I loved it. I was swept away into fun, then sadness, then suspense. I laughed, I cried. That’s what a good book does; really letting you escape into a magical world.

One thing and I only have myself to blame: I hadn’t read book 1 before this book. And that was a mistake. I mean, I could understand perfectly well, but I missed out! So I’d recommend reading book 1 first.

Solid second book in the series

I liked the character of LA much better in this book, as I could see the growth started in the first book continuing. She's still young and impetuous, but she also recognizes consequences and learns from them.

This is an intense adventure to save the human world and other dimensions. There is intrigue, betrayal, love of family, love of friends, happiness, sadness, defeat, and success all mixed into one delightful story.

If you enjoy urban fantasy, add this book and series to your collection.

LA and her friends are fighting to prevent the ultimate collapse of all the realms.

Unfortunately, sorting those in favor and those opposed is not easy.

can she reach safety and save the worlds?

What about her friends and family?

what survives at the end of everything?

edgo of the worlds adventures

Sam Cheever is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. Her stories are fun and easy to read. I love her characters and while Paranormal books were not my first preference, this series is changing my mind. This second book in this series was as much fun to read as the first. I know the rest will follow suit.

This is an enjoyable paranormal cozy that has fun characters, a well thought out plot, and a perfect pace. The mystery/suspense was full of twists and not easily solved, and the humorous moments blended in seamlessly. There are also many different types of supes which adds extra spice to the story. All in all I would say that this is a must read for any paranormal cozy lovers.

I loved that the author used two different myths and brought them together to make this story. The fact that a witch and a familiar work together to keep the world in check is a wonderful idea. I love the the main character is a strong female who doesnt take the stuff thrown at her.

A good story.

I really enjoyed this book. LA discovers barriers between our world and others are getting weaker. She and her friends enter one if those worlds to find her Aunt Trudy. Once there, the action is almost non-stop. The plot is good. There is humor and some romance . This is a fun read.

This was well written and firmly rests in the 'unputdownable' category. Lots of funny moments and while I think it stood up well as a stand-alone, I'm definitely going to check out the rest of the series.

A very enjoyable, well written book that is a little different from this author's usual fare, but no less excellent. Not the usual paranormal flavours, and it was a pleasure to read the unexpected.
