Rate this book

The ending is kinds rushed but at least all major issues are nicely tied. Not gonna deny, i rolled my eyes whenever Baler showed up and I even questioned wth he popped up way too frequent but then I realised the title itself is referring to him so...

I wish the art had been better. The story started good but then got boring and the ending felt rushed, although apparently the novel ends the same way.

I was kind of excited during the beginning of this manhwa as I love Nevaeh's character. She's smart, she knows what to do, and is cunning. But because of her trauma, she kind of swept by her emotions and there are some scenes where I find her naive or boring. The flow of the story was good at first, but then it became repetitive, as some scenes were repeated in every panel. There's nothing remarkable as the story progresses and the last part of this manhwa just shows us how both Arendt and Nevaeh came to realize their feelings for each other. As they are both hurt from their past relationships, it's understandable how each of them became careful and made sure that the emotions that they were feeling were real. Though I'm a bit disappointed with how Nevaeh admitted her feelings, I can say that they both dared to tell each other. I love how they both communicate and support each other. The ending seems rushed and it just focuses on their confession. I was lowkey hoping that there would be another arc to happen but it didn't.

~2.5 rounded up

The plot and art are pretty good, but the characters, especially the main female protagonist, aren't likable. They have horrific communication skills and self-sacrifice syndromes that both push the narrative forward and backward. It's a necessary part of their growth but also very headache-inducing. It does have some great angsty regret scenes from the former fiance' which is really what I came here to read.

It started well enough, then the plot became messy and uninteresting. It was not the coming of age love story I expected.

I was interested at first, but the plot just wasn’t my cup of tea.
