One More Chance

Rate this book
Taryn Miles decided to give Lake Placid one more chance after leaving home after college. Greener pastures were in her future. Or so she thought. What should have been a better life turned out to not be much different than what she had.

Justin Cambridge and his father’s relationship changed the moment he said he had no interest in taking over the family golf resort in little old Lake Placid. What he wanted was an exciting career in emergency medicine in a big city. But when his father falls ill, he decides to bury the hatchet and return home to help care for him and maybe mend the relationship before it’s too late. Staying there long term wasn’t an option...only he should know by now that saying of the best laid plans...

I have always loved the Lake Placid series and it was so much fun to catch up with a few members of the community and meet some new ones.
Justin and Taryn both grew up Lake Placid but ran in different circles due to Justin being several years older than Taryn. Both of them had left Lake Placid after high school to pursue career opportunities. Now both are them are back. Taryn is back home because she missed her family and she found that the grass was not greener outside of Lake Placid. Now she is following her passion by baking and starting a business. Justin is back to take care of his father while he goes through cancer treatments and working as a fill in doctor at the ER to pass the time.
When Taryn has a mishap with a knife, she finds herself in Justin’s ER. Sparks start to fly. Can these two find the happiness, here in their hometown, that they had been searching for in other places? Visit Lake Placid and see for yourself.
Natalee Ann – I absolutely love this series.

It was just going to be a casual fling while Justin was back in Lake Placid helping his father get through chemo, but Taryn and Justin couldn't fight their deepening feelings for each other. What an interesting first meeting in the ER with him getting a cake knife out of her leg. I might have done the same stupid thing if I were to drop something I thought was important. I love that she's starting a business designing cakes and other pastries. I'm an accountant too and wish I had a flexible job like her brother-in-law offered her. Taryn's family is great, teasing, and supportive. She should have been more open about her feelings and what was going on so Justin could make an informed decisions, but that added to the drama in the story. I wanted to shake Justin's father for making it harder on him and his family, but his stubbornness reminds me of my own.

After growing up in Lake Placid, Justin and Taryn both leave to pursue their dreams of a better life. However different circumstances lead them back to their home town Lake Placid. Taryn returns to run her own business and Justin return temporarily to care for his ailing father. When they meet sparks fly and instantly attracted to each other. However Justin makes it clear that he is there for a short term, which is fine by Taryn and they decide to have some fun. It was great to see previous characters in the series make an appearance. This is one of my favourite books of the series so far and I loved both of these strong characters. It touches on family, love, relationships and so much more.
This book is well written and beautiful storyline. Hats off to Natalie Ann for an excellent book.

I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Ms. Natalie Ann has a way of making my heart lighter!

Justin and Taryn's story was absolutely swoon-worthy! I love that the two had left town to find something they did not think they could find there, only to find it there? Well maybe, you'll have to find out!

Not the best way to find each other, buy hey, maybe whatever it takes!

I just love this series!

This latest book in the Lake Placid series follows Justin and Taryn who have returned to their hometown. Justin is there to help care for his father and Taryn has returned to start a new job and business by family. What starts out as just having fun together turns to so much more. Another great book in the series that catches you up with other characters and introduces you to new. Highly recommend this series.

This was my first Natalie Ann book and I am hooked! It made my heart so happy to see that there were eight other books in this series alone and you best believe I’ll be reading more, because these characters were as sweet as cake! What more could you want than a small town romance, a hot ER doctor, and a beautiful baker?!

This is the third book I have read by this author. It is one that I just wanted to keep reading to see what happened. The characters were well described and I really didn't want it to end. Great book and I feel anyone would enjoy it.

Justin returns to his hometown temporarily to care for his father even though their relationship is somewhat strained due to the fact Justin didn't want any part of the family business, instead becoming a doctor. While in town, he fills in for the local hospital.

After being away from her hometown for six years, Taryn decided to move back and start a new bakery business. When a mishap lands her in the ER, she meets Justin and his immediately attracted to him as he is to her. To thank him for taking care of her, she decides to take him some of her homemade bake goods. Being as they are attracted to each other and he is only in town temporarily, they decide to spend time together with no strings attached. The more time they spend together, feelings begin to blossom. Will their previous arrangement end when Justin leaves or will they give into their feelings to get their HEA.

Another wonderful story! The whole Lake Placid series is wonderful!
