'We stand together like no collection of androids has ever done before.'

Another fantastically thrilling story!

Blake, Angelus and Lola are still fighting to stop the Cardinal. Where they want Humanity to live along side Androids, the Cardinal wants to end Humanity.

Blake enters the Net to find the Messiah and he discovers that the Cardinal wants to shut the net down. But its an Eden that contains 5 million Android consciences.

Becoming allies with the unlikely and enemies with the powerful. They race against time to save the lives of many.

Another Brilliant story. Full of action, twists and unexpected revelations! A fantastic set of characters where you even love the criminals!

On to the next 😁

Seth Rain’s “Messiah Online” is the second installment in his “The Cyberpunk Uploads”, which is an extraordinary intelligent dark tale that perfectly lines up with great dystopian archetypes such as “Blade Runner”, “Dark Angel” or even “Ghost in the Shell”.

“Messiah Online” continues the epic story of Blade (aka The Postman) following seamlessly from the previous book, after The Postman finally chose a name for himself (Blake). Now the revolution is peeking in Lundun, and Cardinal is determined to create the very first Android State on Earth whatever it takes. But as he threatens to blow up the Net (along with over five million androids) Blake (more of less forced) joins the revolution to fight the threat, free her beloved Lola, and find the Messiah, a charismatic android who has created a new home for his followers outside Lundun. The fate of threaten androids and Lundun, even the whole world is at stake and all depends on Blake ability to control the spectrum.

Seth Rain has an uncanny gift for dystopian writing, this world is carefully crafted, logical and plausible; with multidimensional characters, that despite being androids, have their unique and individual personality. Seth Rain easily masters the narrative, until the point where the reader ‘forgets’ , that these characters are supposed to be second-generation cybernetic beings going through the same struggles as their flesh counterparts, when trying to find the meaning of their own existence. Despite its very deep meaning and elaborated plot, the story is first and foremost a veritable fast-paced, action-filled, page-turner that keeps the reader on the edge of the seat, feverish turning the pages, finding answers and brand-new questions on the process. Blake is the embodiment of a hero, the one who does what must be done, lead by love and empathy and need no further reason. This is a veritable extraordinary series, that explores the meaning of existence from the POV of androids, that are a perfect mirror of us, with feelings, desires, morals, all of them in an absolute credible, even relatable way, due to Seth Rain’s genius. The books are a clear recommendation for both dystopia fans and anyone looking for a high original tale on the meaning of life and existence, with the added bonus of offering fast-paced, action-filled, fully satisfying entertainment from start to end.

Received as an ARC copy, this is an honest review. The android revolution has begun against Fr.e.dom and Cardinal forces; Blake, Angelus and their allies lives are about to be thrown into chaos. Cardinal threatens to destroy The Net and thus a world where androids occasionally escape from their dreary reality; the androids that have permanently uploaded... there would no turning back if The Net is lost. To save millions, Blake and Angelus have to journey deep within The Net seeking out the help of the Messiah, that many androids champion as a savior. He points them to find the quantum key and the servers to acquire the data... their quest to protect the androids finished, and way too easy to accomplish. As they discover, there are dark secrets swirling around them between the Messiah and Cardinal along with Blake's control of the Spectrum. Betrayed and anger, Blake seeks out Turing (Messiah) to get answers, only to find further questions and a deeper journey to unravel them. With the threat still looming for those uploaded, the way to save them is crazy, a life changing sacrifice so they can have a future. This masterful sequel to Spectrum Worlds, delivers an ever expanding haunting adventure, highly recommended.

I have the box set of this series (ARC) and book two continues the fight for androids being real and of value. What is the worth of an android, is it equal to that of a human?

This series appears to be about power and existence. The Cardinal is an android but is willing to destroy them for absolute control over survivors - to kill all humans, too.

Blake, the Postman, wants to control the spectrum - a special gift, but one he uses for good. Of course, Cardinal wants that gift for even more power. This gift is fascinating. Blake questions his existence.

The tangle of perspectives gives this story depth. Android -human, they seem the same to me, although androids have been programmed to be slaves and 'less'. However, each has the same drives and emotions. So can they live in harmony?

There are numerous questions and thought-provoking ideas in this series.

Enjoyable and highly recommended.

And so we continue where we left of with Spectrum Worlds , the pacing doesn't slow down at all and The Postman still has no idea who to trust and, even as a reader with my god like view of things, i still have no idea who is being honest and what their real agendas are in these books: which is what makes them so good.   Eventually things will come out in the wash and we'll find out who is really pulling whose strings.

If you enjoyed the first book, you'll enjoy this just as much.

But, between this and the last book in the series, there's the penultimate book, Android State , which begins with all humans being told that they've got about 3 weeks to all get out of the United Kingdom or they'll be killed on sight: should be fun.

As a follow on from book 1 this was very disappointing really. Characterisation and motivation was all over the place. The Clint Eastwood'y tough guy with a conscience get the job done man with no name hero suddenly becomes a wishy washy hand wringing Woody Allen'y fall guy for no real reason I can see. The only way he gets anything done is by relying on his two new best bud's acting as loyal die for him henchmen despite being his enemies for all of book one and the start of this book. All the hero has ever done to these two is lie to em, cheat em, rob em, shoot em, punch em and insult em and now they run around saving his bacon and making his half assed plans work. Again, for no real reason I can see.
Thnk I am done with this series.

This is an amazing book two following Spectrum Worlds. The story, though it continues from book 1, is it's own thing entirely. It adds on to the story but also brings a new element to the psychology/spirituality/meaning of androids and humans. There is more character depth and more understanding of the spectrum. There is a bit of introspection throughout the book that makes you as a reader think, just as Blake does. Can't wait for the next book!

I received this book as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book is much more than the description implies. It is a thought provoking and philosophical blend of action, science and current technology and game action. This book describes what my grandson does every day on Discord. You create a world within a world to take down the game master when he acts like a dictator. It was really intriguing to listen to him discuss what he was doing during the time that I was reading this book. Fiction in real life.

Can an android truly feel love? While trying to defeat The Cardinal’s insane plan Blake also has to contend with the feelings he has for a human. Together with a mismatched group of associates we follow his battle to save millions of lives.
Once again Seth has written a believable world with realistic characters and I found myself eagerly turning the pages to find out if Blake succeeds in his mission.
Again this is a 5* read for me and I can’t wait to read the next instalment.

A good second book in the series

The characters continue to show resilience and courage. They are confronted with hopeless challenges and still they persevere. This book was as good as the first book in the series.
