The 4th of July was supposed to be a day of celebration until a body turns up in a burned out vehicle.
FBI profiler Amanda Redgrave works hard to bring justice to those who can’t find it for themselves. Every case brings her one step closer to ending the nightmares for those families who are left with more questions than answers. When a young girl goes missing in Tarpley, Texas she hopes this is the case that will finally close the cold case she’s been assigned. What she doesn't expect is the help of a rugged firefighter who awakes emotions long buried.
Two things happen to Michael "Big Mack" McEvers that change his life from simple to complicated—he begins full-time work with Bandera County and Tarpley VFD, and Amanda arrives in town. He's not looking for love but if she'll have him, he's all hers.
Racing against the clock they must work together to catch a killer. Can they save the girl and each other, or will one have to be sacrificed?
TL Reeve was born out of a love of family and a bond that became unbreakable. Living in the south, TL misses Los Angeles and will one day return to the beaches of Southern California to ride the waves at Huntington Beach. When not writing something hot and sexy, TL can be found curled up with a good book, or working on homework with a cute little pixie.
You should always watch the quiet ones...and Michael is full of surprises, we knew he was tall and sexy, a volunteer firefighter who is invested in the community. What we didn't know is that he is a dirty talkin', fun lovin', witty guy who loves to cook, spoils his pets and is totally besotted with the sassy FBI Agent that brings him to his knees with one look! This book weaves horror, intrigue and laughter seamlessly, we also get to see plenty of Cruz (never a bad thing!) whilst he and Amanda investigate. I look forward to reading the rest of the Tarpley VFD Season 2 books, three of which are also out today.
Amanda met Michael while on assignment for the FBI in Texas. She was working a cold case involving multiple murders. To say sparks flew between Michael and Amanda would be an understatement! The case Amanda was working started when she was 3 years old and the reason she became an agent. It was quite a gruesome case with many unexpected twists that put many in harms way. This would have been a 5 star but the editing was distracting.
Not well written, but promising as far as the story itself. Grammar & punctuation was sadly missing, words inserted in the wrong order in a sentence, or words missing from a sentence; these printing or writing errors were so frequent as to make the story impossible for me to enjoy, as I was doing way too much rearranging, punctuating, or filling in missing words for the sentences to make sense. Just not worth it for me, so did not finish the book, made it about half way before I just gave up!
Amanda and Michael's romance is set against the hunt for a serial killer who has been commiting murder for about 30 years. It really was quite suspenseful and I'm usually pretty good at figuring out "whodunit" but I missed this one by a lot. I loved the chemistry between these two. Neither were game players. Both were old enough to know what they wanted in the love department but didn’t count on finding their "one" any time soon.
Tarpley is still recovering from the tornado, but the little town moves on. Unfortunately for them, a serial killer may have set up shop there. Amanda is the FBI agent following the case, and truly, has been following this killer for years. When she meets witness Michael McEvers, she is floored. The case is a tough one and she follows the trail to the killer while finding the man who turns out to be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Fighting for Amanda: Exciting story of solving cold cases and love. I loved the connection that Amanda and Michael had. Even if they start off on the wrong foot it wasn't for very long. He support her throughout her chasing the serial killer because he had conference in her doling the case. I like that she found a real one with him. I really enjoyed their story.
Amanda was FBI and she was chasing a serial killer. She arrived in Texas and met Mac the fireman. After his interview they went to bed. She had been chasing this killer for 40 years. Most of the time it was paperwork but the killer had killed 3 women here in Texas.
I enjoyed this story it was fast pace and intense. Reeve definitely pulled me in with the storyline and her characters. Amanda and Big Mack are both stubborn, funny, sexy and raw absolutely love them. Great way to start off the start of this series. Happy Reading!!
He is a volunteer firefighter she’s an FBI agent who is trying to catch the guy who killed her babysitter when she was a child they get to know one another have lots of sizzling romance when she’s targeted she stays with him she gets a break in the case and figures out who the guy is but she loves him and stays with him
loved the book. FBI agent chasing a serial killer that had been killing for many years and she knew one of his first victims. Hunky good looking firefighter from VFD. Throw in a little of Cruz Livingston and this book is a winner :D
I thoroughly enjoyed every page, was horrified at the depth of depravity of the bad guy, rooted for Amanda to catch him and swooned over the sexiness that is Michael. This season is of to a great start.
These stories are amazing. Love hearing about this small town and their amazing people. Be sure to read the first set, that way you know what is happening.
A wonderful story full of intrigue and romance. I read it in one sitting. Totally enjoyed the presence of Cruz Livingston. Editing errors were distracting though.
This was soooo good. The banter between Amanda and Michael had me laughing out loud soo much. Amanda is in Tarpley to solve cold cases. She is FBI agent. Unfortunately, there are new ones to add. Doing interviews is how she meets Michael. Michael is a volunteer firefighter and is also going for arson investigator. They click right off the bat. Amanda is working with Cruz. They finally got an ID. Now to find him. Will Amanda stay in Tarpley with Michael?
Michael and Amanda, one a firefighter and the other a FBI agent. One searching for a serial killer, the other rushing in where others run away from. Great combination, fantastic characters. The story line griped and kept me reading until I finished. And seeing old friends well that was the best bonus one can ask for
