Mulán. Un giro inesperado
Fa Mulán tiene el corazón de una guerrera. Disney is particularly noted for being a film producer and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created some of the world's most famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, a character for which Disney himself was the original voice. He has been awarded four honorary Academy Awards and has won twenty-two competitive Academy Awards out of fifty-nine nominations, including a record four in one year, giving him more awards and nominations than any other individual. He also won seven Emmy Awards. He is the namesake for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the United States, as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland Hong Kong.
Disney died of lung cancer in Burbank, California, on December 15, 1966. The following year, construction began on Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971.

Me ha encantado este giro! El inframundo y las diferentes pruebas… el autoconocimiento de Mulán a lo largo del libro… es y sigue siendo mi película favorita de Disney💖

Me ha encantado la representación del inframundo y las similitudes que tiene con el concepto del mismo que tenemos de él en la cultura popular. Las descripciones de demonios y los diferentes niveles han sido muy vívidas. De lo que más me ha gustado es cómo ha profundizado en los pensamientos de Mulán sobre sí misma y su familia. También me encantaría saber más sobre la historia de Meng Po, Shi Shi y el rey Yama

Me lo leí en una sola noche porque no podía parar de leer. La trama del inframundo es muy interesante y aunque ya sabía realmente como acababa el libro, con cada prueba que tenía que superar Mulan estaba en tensión todo el rato y me encanta el desarrollo que tiene tanto su personaje como Li Shang y la química que se leía entre los dos (shippeando máximo). Mención especial también para el león extraño que acompaña a Mulan en el viaje que es un poco el comic relief de la trama 🤭

Tot bé.
La narració continua aprofundint en la personalitat de la Mulán i en el masclisme contextualitzat en l’època, així com en la negativa a acceptar la igualtat entre dona i home, ni tan sols en la necessitat extrema d'aquesta. Sempre tenint en compte el moment, el lloc i la situació en què es desenvolupa la història, emergeix una Mulán fidel als seus valors, encara que sovint es pregunti si aquests ideals no l’acabaran portant pel camí de l’amargor.
M’ha semblat interessant veure com, malgrat ser una dona empoderada i independent, no renuncia a la seva vessant més tradicional: el respecte pels pares i la necessitat de salvaguardar la família. Això demostra que no és incompatible tenir un cor més progressista i, alhora, mantenir un vincle profund amb les arrels i les tradicions.
Pel que fa als personatges secundaris, en Shang es manté ferm en les seves idees, però m’ha agradat el gir que fa cap a la segona meitat del llibre. Trobo a faltar en Mushu, tot i que la presència d’en Shishi m’ha convençut bastant. En canvi, en Chi fu continua essent tan menyspreable com sempre, i no sembla que això hagi de canviar, per molts llibres que s’escriguin.
La història està ben construïda, encara que, havent llegit just abans el d’Hèrcules, reconec que ja en tenia prou d’inframons (orientals, occidentals, grecs o romans). En aquest cas, ha estat més aviat una saturació meva que no pas un defecte de la novel·la. En qualsevol cas, m’ha agradat i tinc clar que continuaré amb la saga que planteja Disney.
