Faith's pregnancy is a mish-mash of mayhem and madness...from baby mamas, to side chicks, to near-miss affairs, to the most timely act of revenge ever...it all seems to be going down. How does it all end?
The Writer, who became an Engineer, who became an Investment Banker, who became a Fertility Spokesperson, who became…a Writer. That has been the journey of A. T. Nwokedi, aka The Fertile Chick. A self confessed hopeless romantic, when she is not creating new characters, she devotes her time to creating memories with her husband and their three children.
Imagine going through shege that is not yours while being pregnant. Yes !shege that you decide to do gumbody for because it involves your brother and your friends. This is what Faith’s pregnancy is about. This book carries us through Faith’s Pregnancy journey , her family , her friends and her work place. I dived into this book thinking I was reading about the struggles of a pregnant woman and I met premium chaos with love and shege I didn’t know I needed😂. I loved how the story explored fertility, unrequited love , pregnancy journey, genuine friendships side chick brouhaha .The characters felt flawed and well written especially Ebika. That babe did not only stress Faith but stressed me too😂I didn't know when I started rooting for her.Philip is another another headache😂.I will let you go and read to find out.As for Idara? I reverse my comment.
What really stood out for me was how the characters growth rate was shown. The how highs, the lows of getting pregnant, making friends dealing betrayal, finding love again and how they were able to navigate their lives. I also loved how @adesuwaonwokedi tackled pregnancy, miscarriages, relationships and unexpected events. It was so fun and I earn't a few things while reading. This is a book every should read Even though this book was dated in 2012,it was fresh, witty and still carried a touch of modern day setting which I love. Overall, this book was not just a book,it a story that captures the struggles ,joys and resilience of the characters as they navigate unexpected challenges and find their strength in love and family as well as work on their weakness. I high recommend this book
