Some of my favorite reads start out with a “what if?” proposition. Will You Still Love Me If I Become Someone Else? falls into this category, with the protagonist Alex, taking a flight that changes the course of his life. When he lands, the other passengers have amnesia, and he has all of their memories entwined with his own. What transpires from there is an unraveling of Alex as he battles to separate his own memories from these new, invading identities as those identities begin to seize control. Layer in the sci-fi elements that make all this possible, the secret research, his colleagues, past entanglements, and the dynamic of a wife living with a husband who is only intermittently the person she married, and you have the makings of a page-turning psychological thriller.

This is one of my favorite reads in a while. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes psychological thrillers or science fiction. I’ll definitely be interested to see what Jotham puts out next.

Thank you to the author for providing an advanced reading copy.

Wow a definitely strange and different type of book. Alex, after taking a flight, ends up with all the passengers’s memories. How he struggles to find his own, is what makes this book unique. I received a complementary copy and reviewed because I loved it.

This is the first book review I've ever done.
However, I've never been given a book at no-charge before its launch, and only asked to provide a voluntary review in response.
So, here's my brief take on Will You Still Love Me If I Become Someone Else?
If you're like me, one who becomes immersed in great story-telling that gets you thinking, guessing and questioning the world that unfolds before you, page-by-page, beset by intriguing plot twists and character twists that surprise, shock and amaze, then this is a tale for you.
From the outset, to the very end, the reader is on a continual journey, asking, what is going on? However, not to the point of incredulity, or an 'Inception-like' kind of way, but, more along the lines of, what happened to get us here?; what's going to happen next?..... you're constantly wanting to catch-up, always feeling one step behind.... making for great suspense!
The story is a 'page-turner' and one where you'll get to the end of a chapter, and then feel compelled to start the next, (even though it's already way past bedtime).
And in-between, you come to love or dislike some of the rich characters, while others, well, you're guessing, not knowing what to make of them... as the title intimates.
From the first sentence to the last line, you'll be hooked.
Give it a read; it will be time well-spent....and then you'll be asking for a sequel, or prequel, or spinoff.
Happy Reading.

Will You Still Love Me if I Become Someone Else?
Book Review written by Katherine E Soto
A man comes home from a trip and begins acting different. Turns out he does not have amnesia like the other people who were on his airplane. Instead, he has all his memories plus theirs stuffed into his brain. How does this happen? Science is involved, of course.
Alex is a scientist for a nano-technology company who studies the brain and memory. There is a lab accident that no one is aware of. Instead of gaining a superpower, he acquires a wicked set of memories that set him off into his own adventures. His wife is pulled into the mix up in his mind as he turns into other people while he lives with her. To top it off she’s newly pregnant when this all starts.
This book is an interesting romp into how people think and how memory affects humans. The author takes time to explain there are two parts to memory- one part is full of how to do things, the other is full of memories of who you did them with. In this book the second type of memory is affecting the people on the airliner. They become similar to zombies; they can live but have no memory of their lives. The author brings the story through the confusion Alex and his wife, Leslie, have by telling their stories of the Event and after the Event. He also tells the story of Alex’s partner Marci, who is Alex’s ex-wife. No love is lost between the wife and ex-wife, but they must work together to help Marci solve the memory puzzle.
The author weaves the confusing pieces of the puzzle of Alex’s life into the pieces of the nanotechnology mistake with the relationships the characters are dealing with. This book is an excellent read and leaves you thinking about the world you live in. Do you truly know your loved ones? Is love a memory that can be faded or erased in someone’s memories? Follow Alex, Leslie and Marci as they try to solve the entanglements in which they find themselves. This book is a page turner to the end.

First off, thank you Jotham Austin II for gifting me an ARC copy of "Will You Still Love Me If I Become Someone Else?".
The story captivated me from the first pages and I found I couldn't put it down until the end!
As far as psychological thrillers go, this novel is fast becoming one of my favorites, especially due to the complexity of the characters the author created and the premise of this plot which is the accuracy of our recollections, the fact that memories are not static- often when we remember an event from our past our emotions play a big part in its accuracy. I found the idea that if we artificially augment memories by adding or subtracting from them and the potential devastating impact on a human's personality traits fascinating, eye opening and disturbing at the same time. We are after all the sum of our experiences.
I'm not curent with all the advances in science when it comes to mapping out memories but I hope nano-transmitters/receivers are not a reality just yet, only because a real life Marci needs to be balanced by a real life Alex.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading psychological thrillers that veer into sci-fi, pretty scientist supervillains, enduring love stories and persevering heroines that pop off the pages.

Fantastic Debut Novel!

Do you ever think about your memories? That part of your past that has formed and shaped you to become who you are today. What if those memories were suddenly gone? What if someone else had them?

This has become the reality of the 110 passengers on flight 2164. But life is even more frightening for Brian, the lone passenger who not only remembers who he is, but who everyone else once was. “Will You Still Love Me...” follows Brian’s struggles of keeping a firm grasp on his reality while randomly being plunged into someone else’s. Twists and surprises will keep you turning the page. Psychological thrillers tend not to be my genre of choice, but the expert crafting of the characters and plot line left me wanting more. I highly recommend this novel to all, but especially to those who believe that they “don’t like” psychological thrillers. Give it a try. You won’t regret it!

I received this book as an advanced reader’s copy. However, I bought a signed paperback version since I loved it so much!

I found this to be a page-turner mind blowing psychological thriller that I can’t even describe how much it got me hooked. I definitely want a sequel and want to recommend it to fans of this genre!

It had me guessing at many times and has a number of twists and turns and I enjoyed reading it.

The whole idea of 110 passengers having amnesia and only one passenger remembering both his memories and the other passengers’ memories on the plane and what should happen next, is a unique and interesting idea and I liked the way it unfolded.

I received a free ARC copy of this book but that did not affect my review in any way.

Buckle up for an unrestrained stream of consciousness story through many memories and the search for who’s who, all sensuously told with much provocative dialogue and abundant visual cues to spark your imagination. If you like your science fiction with plenty of relationships and you want something that you won’t want to stop reading, this is it. Jotham takes you through the latest in memory manipulation meanwhile including a mystery and a twist at the end. Will you see it coming?

This is a psychological thriller that's a page turner from beginning to end. What if we suddenly lost our memories or gained the memories of someone else? Would we still be the same person? Would we still feel the same way toward our loved ones?

Will You Love Me If I Become Someone Else delves into those questions in a story that has multiple twists and turns, right up to the very end. A thoroughly entertaining read that you won't be able to put down and will be wanting more after the words The End. I higly recommend!

Will You Still Love Me If I Become Someone Else? was a gripping psychological thriller with a strong foundation in science fiction and the speculative. Imagine having the memories of 110 different people implanted in your brain. That's what happens to Brian after taking a flight. While Brian is trying to decipher which memories are his and which ones belong to the other passengers, secrets begin to unravel as Brian begins to question who he really is.

Jotham Austin's debut novel was a thrilling trip, and if you like original ideas with twists and turns, you should read it!

An original and exceptional idea by Mr. Austin, Written in a breezy casual style that moved the story along nicely, until you find yourself ensnared by the wriggling tentacles of the plot, which is related as seen from the viewpoint of the different characters, and jumping back and forth in time, which turns into a tasty bowl of gumbo before a satisfying resolution. Nice job Jo! Already looking forward to the next one.

This book is really crazy good! It gets a bit confusing, especially in the beginning, trying to remember all of the different characters and the way that they connect, BUT, it's really worth it! It will pull you in and keep you guessing all the way through too! Kinda creepy scary thinking about if this could happen and if we would know if it did! Anyway I really enjoyed it and hope there's more to come!

This story had me captivated. It is an interesting premise, but also a scary one. what if someone had the power to change or remove your memories. Scary to think about. The author provides an example of how greed and power hungry people can and would use this ability. I would recommend this to people who question "Big Brother". I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.

What truly makes a person worthy of love? “Memories make us who we are,” but what happens when memories are misplaced? Author Jotham Austin takes us on a wild ride in a series of intimate conversations between characters whose identities are fluid, whose memories literally merge into each other. “Will You Still Love Me” is a sci-fi Harlequin romance you may never forget!

I'm not being biased with 5 stars because I know the author. I say this because I got so into the book I FORGOT I knew the author. It was really well written (a sci fi book written by a scientist) and it was so interesting it kept me on toes. Chapters are short so was easy to "just ONE more chapter" until I finished it in a couple days.

A fine story which will appeal to readers from 8 on up. It's not actually a book meant for youth, but youth with intelligence seem to enjoy it.

A great summer read.

Well, I honestly don’t know what to say about this book. It’s either the best book I’ve ever read or the worst. And I am leaning towards the latter. It was so hard to follow but but for some reason I just had to finish it. It’s like watching a train wreck, you want to look away but just can’t. I had trouble keeping the characters straight, especially Alex/Alexi/Brian and Marci/Brenda. AndMarci is one of the most despicable characters I’ve ever encountered in a book. It was well-written if a little disjointed. I guess what makes a good book is the fact that it keeps you engaged. I did take a 1 week break just to wrap my head around the story. Could I recommend this book to anyone? If you like stories with a twisted storyline, a convoluted plot and lots of tech talk about memory manipulation, then this is the book for you.
