The bow Gandiva slips from my hand, and my skin burns. I cannot keep quiet, for my mind is in tumult.
Chapter 1. Verse 30.
In the Bhagwad Gita, Arjuna gets stuck seeing the challenge in front of him in the Kurukshetra. He turns to Lord Krishna and says how he is frozen and even the best of his skills are not helping him pick up his divine weapon - the Gandiva.
This happens to the best of the salespeople. There comes a time where all the skills and systems fail to produce the desired results. They freeze in their tracks. Many turn to more skills training in an attempt to sharpen their skills further, not knowing that without fixing one's attitude and mastering one's emotions, they will end up in the same place again.
The Sales Yogi is an attempt to take care of these aspects of sales through the wisdom of Yogic principles mentioned in the Bhagwad Gita. Taking inspiration from concepts of Karma Yog, Bhakti Yog, Dhyan Yog, Satvik Thinking, etc. the book takes you through a unique journey of creating the best version of you - the salesperson.
Dubbed the Seven Chakras of Sales, Sanjeevv delves into the seven aspects of Attitude, Creativity & Emotions, Passion, Persistence & Knowledge, Client Centricity, Communication & Expression, Intuition & Openness, and Network & Influence. The book is an attempt to look at the people's side of sales and give guidance to improve one's attitude and approach to sales
With over 15 years in Sales and Client Management, Sanjeevv brings with him a plethora of practical experiences that he beautifully incorporates into his coaching assignments.
He has delivered over 500 projects and requirements for his clients spanning across industries. In the recent past, he has coached SaaS startups in their quest to make Sales a true value function within the organization.
Currently, he leads his coaching practice - The Sales Yogi, which combines the values in the Bhagwad Gita into practical snippets for Sales professionals. He is a Certified Happiness Coach and believes in making his programs holistic - combining both skills and emotions.
He is an avid traveler and has done 400000+ kilometers on his motorcycle in India.
“This is an action-oriented book which provides solutions to all your queries related to selling. There are a few practical exercises at the end of each chapter that give you an opportunity to reflect on your “sales graph and planning for the same”. You’ll find everything related to sales in the book. It’ll not tell you what you should sell? But it throws light on, how can you “awaken the salesperson in you”. How can you be creative with your selling skills? How can you master your emotions while dealing with negative feedback? After all, selling is all about the people in it.”
Last moment I changed the rating from 3 to 4. This is an essential book for every graduate or the one who enters into the world of SALES. Essentials and inevitable points the author wrote with Bhagavad Gita as a reference. There are a few techniques though it may sound repetitive, apparently the author has given a new dimension.
