The Music of Christmas: A devotional commentary for Advent & Christmas

The Music of Christmas is a collection of 25 daily devotions designed to help readers cut through the noise of a busy, distracting, and often loud holiday season. It is our prayer that God will use these familiar passages as a reminder of His incredible love. We also pray that your love for Christ and His mission will be rekindled this Advent season. Each day is roughly a five-minute read, including scripture references, brief commentary, and a prayer. The devotions are arranged in chronological order to better capture the overarching narrative of Christ’s birth and the Gospel. Entries are not dated, so feel free to use this daily study however and whenever. Read it alone, with a spouse, in a small group, or with your family around the dinner table. Wherever you happen to be as you turn the pages, try to listen past the chaos. Tune out those tired jingles and unending marketing campaigns. Ringing down from heaven, even now, is a sweet song that the angels “Glory to God in the Highest and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests.” That’s a message no heart grows tired of hearing.

We read this as a family during the Christmas season this year and it was wonderful. For full disclosure, the authors are family to me so I’m a little biased but I would have no issues recommending this book to anyone even if that wasn’t the case. Each daily devotion can be read in about 5-10 minutes but each one packs lots of great things to make you think about this season a little more closely. Highly recommended

Btw, Bro Gary, loved the story about getting pulled over on your way to the hospital…with childbirth imminent. Great stuff. lol

I enjoyed reading "The Music of
Christmas." I read a little every day actually closer to Easter than Christmas, but it worked for me. I loved everything about this book. I recommend it to everyone. I love devotional books. I will read it again at Christmas time. It is well worth it.

Wonderful Advent challenges.

This book was well written and challenging in a season that we often over romanticize. These daily readings added to our family advent time.
