Little Lift and Look Under the Sea is a lovely book for young children that follows turtle on his adventures through the sea as he meets lots of underwater friends along the way.
The children's favourite part of this book was (of course!) the flaps. They love books that allow them to be involved with the story and they had great fun both guessing what the sea creature would be that turtle met and lifting the flap to see who it was. Their favourite by far was the clownfish as they said 'they look like Nemo.'
This is a very short story that is perfect for young children and the very pretty pastel illustrations are great to keep the children's attention. Whilst I think this could be read to babies and toddlers I wouldn't say the flaps are sturdy as the book description claims. If you have a gentle child maybe but I think it would be easy to rip the flap as it is just standard card used as this is not a board book.
This is a brilliant book and a lovely undersea adventure. We really enjoyed reading it though it is aimed at younger children.
