The book 2012 Biography of a time traveler is about how the 2012 phenomenon came to be.The story starts out with the main character Jose Arguelles the man behind 2012.The book starts of with him in his early life till his death. What happens is he has this vision at 14 and starts his quest to find out what does it mean.In his vision he see's numerical patterns. So along the book it shows his family and his life as a young boy.
As Jose grows older he travels around the world meeting with spiritual and scientific people to find what does it all mean.During his trip to Mayan civilizations he tries to uncover what the Mayan calendar means. The calendar shows the end of time which is in our century he uses extremely hard math equations to find the specific date.
2012 is a catastrophic event that may end life as we know it although I don't think its real all we can do is wait to see if it is.Jose does not go to much in depth of what happens on December 25,2012.But he believes it is not just the end but maybe a new beginning and the arrival of Quetzalcoatl the Mayan god.
The book also talks about Mayan prophecies like cycles of Samsara. He also finds extraterrestrial texts because of there odd type of writing.During his journey he meets a Tibetan hippie Chogyam Rinpoche who was a marijuana smoker that grew up in Tibet and author of Born in Tibet.Jose accepted him as his teacher because Chogyam was knowledgeable of the 2012 effect.
Me personally this book was not the best because there were too many facts like Jose talking about the actual calculations. He did'nt really talk about the big picture he was to in depth.I recommend this book to a person who knows about what type of catastrophes that will happen and wants to find out more.
