Good Idea, But...
I think this book is a lovely idea, but I don’t think this book is executed well. So many kids have a natural drawing ability, and I think it's great to encourage them with books like this. However, this book only shows the drawing of each animal or bug in four steps—four very detailed steps. I think sometimes there was too big of a leap between two of the steps. The authors didn’t always make the distinctions between two steps obvious. I've seen other books like this that show the new additions as being darker to make them stand out. I also didn't think the authors described how to use this book well. In fact, they didn't do so at all. The book uses a grid system to help place all the parts of the animal, and that should have been explained as well as how to use it most effectively. Most of these drawings are very detailed, so this book would be best suited for an older tween, teen, or adult. While the animal facts presented at the start are fun and interesting, they didn't seem to belong in a book about how to draw animals step by step. I would have rather seen that space used for more detailed instructions. If you have a child who is interested in drawing, but doesn't have much experience doing so, I think this book would be frustrating. If, however, your child is already fairly decent at drawing or has had some good instruction, this book could help teach them how to make realistic drawings of forest animals and insects.

🐻 Pencil and Paper Needed 🐍
This is a beautiful drawing book made for the 5-11 year olds. I think the book should go on skill and be for the intermediate drawer. One who wants to draw with graph paper.
There are forest facts included. What are baby rabbits called? What is the biggest forest animal?
There are around 50 animals to draw including g snakes 🐍, squirrels 🐿, rabbit 🐇, and orangutan 🐒 for just a few. Happy drawing.

Learn to Draw Animals
Another good book on learning to draw animals. This is a little more complicated than some of the others I’ve seen, but with practice, a good book.
