Most people in Landover have heard the legend of the Dead Forest. It’s why no one wants much to do with the stretch of trees that separates Landover County from the rest of civilization.
It’s pretty much the Roach Motel of paranormal forests. People who go in generally do not come out. Not the same, they don’t.
It’s the reason the drive-in closed in 1978 when a group of young executives played a trick on each other in the forest surrounding the drive-in during a horror movie, and only one person made it out alive.
Through channeling, Carly is taken straight to the night in 1978 to relive the story behind the Dead Forest incident and figure out the mystery. But while channeling memories from the 1970s, Carly gets more than just a dose of Disco Fever. She finds clues to the curse haunting Landover. And it changes everything.

A murder at Gate House?
Carly's ex-husband, Jackson, has nicknamed her newest case “murder-lite” because the client is a distant relative of his, and everyone in his family knows who the killer was. In 1900, Jackson’s great Uncle Wesley “fell” down the basement stairs while visiting Gate House. They all know Wesley’s wife did it, and no one blames her, really. Wesley was not the easiest to get along with. So, they all swept it under the rug like a proper family does.
But, while channeling with the ghost of Jackson’s uncle to relive his murder and find out what really happened, Carly soon realizes it’s anything but murder-lite. And what she discovers sends her on a puzzling maze through Gate House with secrets, rumors, and an unexpected channeling.

Ghosts 👻 and mystery
Each book is a completed mystery. However, Carly's story, the medium narrator, runs through all of them and is being revealed bit by bit. The prophecy involving the bird and the bear shape shifters is also running through all the books. This technique keeps the series interesting.

I love box sets as I can go from one book to another without stopping. Carly is a medium who channels ghosts while trying to figure out her houses secrets. Glad these are on kindle unlimited. I just downloaded book 7
