Promises are never forgotten and always fulfilled – sand, sun, love and madcap Zoe Lambros on a mission to fulfill a promise she made to her wife Eva in the Egyptian refugee camp in 1946. A feel good romantic comedy – it’s all about the love with a dash of sand and sun in the land of Milk and Honey.
Featuring the Illustrations of Lucia Nobrega It’s 1948 in Sydney, Australia and Zoe Lambros is planning a surprise for Eva. She enlists the help of best friend Elena and together they make one of Zoe’s zaniest ideas come to life. Zoe’s promise to Eva made in the Egyptian desert in 1946 is the basis for this romantic comedy. Zoe always delivers on her promises no matter how long it takes. Eva, Zoe, Elena, Henry and Earl are back for a Christmas like no other.
I didn’t read this when it was first released because I really didn’t understand how it fitted into the series, was it just going over old ground?
There is quite a lot of revisiting things from previous books in the early chapters, but actually this didn’t bother me at all. What did cause me some problems was the ‘jumping around’, it’s November, then October, back to November, then it jumps on a whole year. Eventually this settles down and the main story, 'Zoe’s promise', takes over.
The story is very sweet and sentimental, but it was really nice catching up with Zoe and Eva again. I just wish there was a new Intertwined Souls novel, it's been nearly four years since the last instalment.
