Sara Martin lives in war-torn Seattle, a formerly bright and active city now ravaged by fighting between two forms of angelic beings, the Rising and Fallen. As one of those Fallen, Gaviel’s existence is dedicated to finding a way out of the city where he and his kind have been unceremoniously dumped while trying to avoid the Rising factions that want them dead. When Sara and Gaviel meet, both of their lives change in a single night, and something starts to develop that neither expected. In this city where an ongoing angelic war affects everything, Sara and Gavin must decide whether the goals they thought were important are really worth risking their chance at love.
I enjoyed Sarah and Gavriel's story. There were a few moments that felt disjointed but that could have been because I ws listening to the audiobook. There's a bit of insta-love but I enjoyed the journey. I liked the ending but am wishing that there was more.
War-torn Seattle caught in an Angel vs Angel apocalypse- yes please. This was a nice war time love story between a human and an Angel. It’s a short story, so there isn’t much build up on their love story. Sara and Gaviel are attracted to each other and he seems to have a sort of fated mate thing going for her.
Sara is a strong character fighting for the safety and health of her people. She makes the most out of being left behind. Gaviel is a soldier of the “fallen”. The image of an Angel buying flowers and chocolates for his human girlfriend - hilarious. And ya gotta love a greedy evil ex-boyfriend villain.
I listened to this on Scribd. Elizabeth Russell did an excellent job narrating. I liked this book and I’d read another book by Bridget Colia.
This was so cute! I love the idea behind this and that it really is a love story from multiple directions. The MC's are super stinking cute together! It reminds of me City of Angels, with the whole angle at the end.
