I am very much a child of the 80s. I was brought up on a diet of unusual cartoons and movies involving things changing into other things, or adventures set to cheap keyboard soundtracks.

I studied Art at college, which led me onto studying Art and Graphic Design at Leeds Metropolitan University. After graduating with no real clue of what to do I found a job as a children’s bookseller at a Waterstones book store. This is where I found my love of books (children’s books in particular).

I joined the Badger Publishing in 2008 and since then I have worked on hundreds of publications. I am now the senior editor and since my time there I worked on publications ranging from phonics books for primary school students all the way up to A level Science resource books for teachers.

I am always scribbling down ideas and thoughts and I have many more plans for future books.

I have had a few of my own titles published, the most recent being Space Pirate Unicorn, in January of this year. Two more titles, The Hamster Who Fell to Earth and Zombie Goldfish, were published in September of last year. I have written titles for reluctant readers and these include Alien Eggs, 3Dee, Invaders, Monster Diner, Pied Piper of London, Modern British Art, Deep Trouble and Cat Brace Face.

I have always written about things that interest me. I was a bit of a Reluctant Reader myself when I was at school and so I like to think I know what would interest and entertain such readers. Since working at Waterstones I can’t remember reading anything which wasn’t a book aimed at children or young adults (which isn’t a bad thing).
