When his boss sends him next door to complain about the loud music, Danny expects some hazing from the pumped-up alpha bros who work out at the Meat Locker. What he doesn’t expect is to be persuaded into posing in a jockstrap and dog collar for a kinky porn website by the muscle-bound God of his guilty dreams, Chris Stedmore. But it turns out that Dan has a talent for submission, and that talent is going to take him to all sorts of unexpected places, from worshipping the bodies of his new bros, to joining a secret Society of dominant men and the guys vying for a chance to submit to their hard training.
If Danny can impress gym owner Chris and his jock buddies then Chris might just agree to train him, but it’s going to take a lot of sweat, pain, and submission to make the grade. Danny is pushed to his limits as he learns to surrender his body and his pride for a chance to worship at the feet of the powerful men he both fears and longs to be accepted by. But when the mentor who trained Chris in the art of breaking in a submissive reappears on the scene, it’ll take more than just muscle for Danny to hold on to his Master’s heart, and his place in the erotic masculine subculture of hard training.
I kind of feel bad only giving this three stars. It was certainly a 5 star read for me right up until Robert showed up at the collaring ceremony. After the tattoo parlor I didn’t like the rest of the book at all. 😞
Uhhhhhhhh. As the cover suggests, very heavy on the BDSM. I thought I knew a thing or two….but I guess that was clearly not the case. My spice rating basically sums it all up. A part of me wishes this would have been written, edited, and formatted better. I feel like the formatting mistakes and slightly cringey dialogue took away from the story that this author was trying to tell.
Regardless, this is basically 200-pages of porn (erotica) with a romantic sub-plot. Take it as it is.
So this book could use a different title because pretty much all the training happens off page. However, Im a vibes reader and I really enjoyed reading this story. I liked the scenes and how the relationships all turned out. I also liked that the conflict was fairly low stakes but still felt real. I don't love how so many things seemed to happen off-page though. Like we see how they all meet how the proposition goes, his first day, then suddenly months into his training have gone by, he's moved in with his dom and now he's full time? Like, I think this could have been fleshed out into several books, honestly. Weeks go by before the knight comes to find the damsel post conflict. They kiss and make up, then cut to over a year later? AND they're in a throuple now-with kinda vague dynamics. Idk it's a fun read, but I wish I could have seen more playout rather than just being recapped with Danny's internal monolog
Ya, no. the dialog is really off putting for me. i thought i just needed to get past the sex scene, but i just can't keep reading. So dnf'ing instead (30% ish). it has an audience out there that would love this type of dynamic, those word choices, that dialog, those kinks. all in all not my cup of tea, and the dialog just absolutely kills any vibe I would get from the plot itself unfortunately. I might skim the rest of the book, see how it ends, but actually reading it is not gonna happen.
This author and book was recommended in a FB group. It's my first book by Jay Garnet but it won't be my last. If you want some steamy MM, BDSM action with an actual plot this was a lot of fun. I didn't see the little twist at the end but I loved it. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy!
⭐️⭐️.7 Slave training isn't usually my type of BDSM but it was surprisingly enjoyable I would've liked to see more of the 3 of them being together and see their dynamic more, seeing tony as a sub and danny as a top I think more groveling was necessary tbh
